Unsourced text
[edit]Text removed:
On 16th November 2005 Keetch hit the headlines when he suggested on the BBC that pensioners living in three or four bedroom properties could be relocated to one-bedroom accommodation, regardless of whether or not they wanted to remain in their current home.
Do you have a reference for this? There is nothing on http://news.bbc.co.uk or http://news.google.co.uk yet. The wording is rather emotive, too. --Cavrdg 20:40, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Trivia section
[edit]I think his waist measurements should not have been removed. They are very important for the electorate to know.
Constituency issues
[edit]Looking back through past edits and reversions, it seems this Keetch is a colourful fellow who attracts both criticism and praise up and down the country (though it seems mostly from local people). It would be interesting to expand this new section to include just about everything he has done for his constituency. With a bit of research and proper referencing we can make this the best page for a backbencher on Wikipedia! --Juan Kerr 08:15, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- The section that has you've added is odd, to say the least, and should be removed. Do we have a source claiming there is an inconsistency here? You seem to be doing unsourced political commentary on the article directly. Morwen - Talk 08:17, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- If you believe my contribution is inaccurate or biased then why not simply edit it to make it impartial rather than removing the entire section?--Juan Kerr 08:20, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's unfixable. Again, has he been criticised in the local press for this or are you making up something? I've been unable to find anything on thisisherefordshire.co.uk about this, but it doesn't look like they put their comment pages online. Morwen - Talk 08:58, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Personal Life Section
[edit]People keep deleting information about Paul's second marriage. I have seen pictures of the registry office ceremony and I've also seen Paul's death certificate which clearly shows Brianna Johnson as being his spouse at the time of his death. Please stop doing this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmrowell (talk • contribs) 15:43, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- That may be so but is there a reliable source for a second marriage? (For example, a mention in an obituary in a reputable newspaper). Personal knowledge alone is not sufficient. Nedrutland (talk) 16:17, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- What is more reliable than the information on the death certificate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dmrowell (talk • contribs) 16:21, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- Actually, to answer my own question, there are I guess two issues. Did Paul marry a second time, and was he still married at the time of his death. To answer the first question, please refer to marriage certificate AB622316, line 208, dated 28 May, 2015, issued in the Lambeth Register (sic) Office, that records the marriage of Paul to Brianna Christine Johnson on that date. Note also that Paul's death certificate was attested to by his son, which seems to reinforce the continued state of his marriage at the time he died. His death certificate is BBT403060, entry number 238, in the Lambeth district, dated 2 June 2017, and recording Paul's death on 24 May 2017. Two causes were cited - the first in three parts being (a) Aspiration Pneumonia, (b) Subarachnoid Haemorrhage, Subdural Hematoma, Intracerebral and intraventricular Haemorrhage, (c) Fall Due to Alcoholic Liver Disease; the second Ischaemic Heart Disease. Dmrowell (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:07, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
I see that Nedrutland continues to delete this entry. I am happy to email scans of both the marriage and death certificate to him or anyone else who might feel the need to sight it. Meantime, please stop censoring the full truth of Paul's relationships. David M Rowell (talk) 21:02, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
Other elements of Paul's personal life - aspects that he would probably be less proud to share but which validly deserve to be part of the record - have been deleted on the specious grounds that the public references to them came from the Sun and Daily Mail newspapers. Here's a Daily Telegraph link; I think they should now be re-instated. Or has the Daily Telegraph also now been deemed to be insufficient authority? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/15/former-mp-threatened-to-post-nude-images-of-ex-partner-and-send/ Dmrowell (talk)
- In that article The DT is merely reporting that The Sun is reporting the allegation so I would suggest not. An allegation that was not thought worthy of Police investigation is, I would suggest, of insufficient importance to include in an encyclopaedic article. Nedrutland (talk) 17:05, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- The DT doesn't prominently repeat everything The Sun and Daily Mail choose to report. The DT (as well as the other two dailies) thought this sufficiently important and credible to report on. It surely adds a surprising new dimension to Paul's persona, as does the other matter hinted at and also elided from the page - the comment from one of his fellow Brexiteers about Paul's personal life being chaotic. Furthermore, you should understand there was a police investigation - these things move slowly - and Paul was due to and would have appeared shortly after his death to answer charges. David M Rowell www.thetravelinsider.info (talk) 17:14, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
- After two years, no Reliable Source has been offered. Therefore, the claims of a second marriage have been removed. If a source is found, they can be re-instated. Nedrutland (talk) 07:57, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
