[edit]One of my friend told me - Panruti name would be derived from French phrase "Bonne Route". Could that be true?
on my view the name panruti orginated from pannuruti which means pann a tamil word means music and uruti which stands for creating.and since panruti is famous for jackfruit and this trees barks and trunks where used for making MIRUDANGAM and hence the music.. by RAMKUMAR C —Preceding unsigned comment added by 221.135.140.60 (talk) 10:14, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
The famed Boys High School of Panruti is no longer a boys high school. With the fees going up in Subbaraya Chettiar Girls High school, on popular demand of the public, Panruti Govt High School has become a co-ed school with a strength of 2500+! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nagu (talk • contribs) 22:52, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
