After Paris took Helen to Troy, Agamemnon sent Palamedes to Ithaca to retrieve Odysseus, who had promised to defend the marriage of Helen and Menelaus. Odysseus did not want to honor his oath
The statement "Odysseus did not want to honor his oath" is not correct. Odysseus saw not under oath, because he was not one of them who would marry Helen, when she chose Menelaus. He took Penelope instead and had gone.
Palamedes is not mentioned in the Iliad, because 'Homeros' the collective writer of the epic, did not want to diminish Odysseus personality, who was very 'controversial' §Leon Calahoras, Greece — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.66.222.104 (talk) 05:22, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
