Illegal entry
[edit]I do not agree with "With little chance of acquiring a work visa or even permission to enter the country, Pakistanis paid as much as ¥300,000 to people smugglers to enter the country.". Is there any source? Maybe peoples paid in past in 1980(s) but now if it is , its much higher...--110.37.21.17 (talk) 19:37, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, the source is cited directly at the end of the sentence. Please click on the little blue superscripted number "10" --- that takes you automatically to the short form citation "Sakurai 2003, p78". If you click on "Sakurai 2003", it takes you automatically to the long-form citation with ISBN and publication information. Finally, the Pakistanis were the ones paying (i.e. they gave money to people smugglers); not were paid (which would mean the people smugglers gave money to the Pakistanis). But you are right, it is referring to the 1980s and 1990s. cab (talk) 23:54, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

- According to an article published in a Non-English language news magazine Weekly Akhbar-e-Jehan, showing that In 1999, there were around 25,000 Pakistanis living in Japan including majority of illegal immigrants. After the incident of September 11 attacks, a larger number of illegal immigrants living in Japan deported from Japan except around 10,000 legal immigrants with only 200 Pakistanis holding Japanese citizenship.
