Cast Members & Release Date

[edit]

Hi everyone. Just wondering if we know if any other characters have been confirmed. Such as new characters or Hugh Grant returning. Do we know if Sally Hawkins has quit the entire film or will she be in at the start and later be replaced with a backstory? Also, will the film take place in 2024? Thanks. 2A00:23C4:F8A0:4C01:A5FE:4EB1:A031:A532 (talk) 11:39, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This film has only just gone into production so we are in the very early stages. As days/months go by, there may well be confirmation on new/returning characters. What is known with Hawkins is likely to be definite[1] and at this point, no-one knows if it will be released in 2024 or some year later. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 18:44, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Gambon

[edit]

Sadly, Michael Gambon has passed away. Which means he will most likely not play Uncle Pastuzo in a flashback scene, unless it has already been done. Very unlikely though, just thought id share this news. 2A00:23C4:F8A0:4C01:996F:46D2:34CD:5E91 (talk) 14:23, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Considering uncle Pastuzo died in part 1, his return (except for the flashback in part 2) was never expected. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:49, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hooray! & Carla Tous Page

[edit]

Nothing majorly important. I'm very excited for the film's release! Also, is there a page on Carla Tous? Just to make the text in blue so it looks in line with the rest of the cast. Thanks! 2A00:23C4:F8A0:4C01:BCA3:15ED:AF9F:6E77 (talk) 16:59, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can be created using interviews with her. But she doesn't have too many acting credits. Kailash29792 (talk) 19:34, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Must also past notability criteria, it is unclear how much of a significant role this person plays until the public get to see the film. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 19:53, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

United States production too?

[edit]

With Columbia Pictures and Stage 6 films being listed as production companies, does that mean Paddington in Peru also has United States as a country of origin on top of United Kingdom and France? GTAGamer245 (talk) 14:13, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is a question better asked to Betty Logan. Is there any trailer/official site saying which are the production companies/countries involved? Kailash29792 (talk) 14:23, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Editors should not be drawing their own conclusions about the country of origin based on assumptions about the production companies. They don't always match up, so on the basis that the United States was not a production country for the first two films we should wait and see how sources categorize it when it comes out. Please see the guidance at Template:Infobox_film#Parameters. If the United States is indeed now formally recognized as a production country then there needs to be a source to that effect. ScAn2008, your perspective please? Betty Logan, bringing your attention to this edit. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:54, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well yeah. May not be listed on any official source but if Stage 6, Columbia and TSG Entertainment are producing (which are American studios), then the film is an American co-production. There's also Japanese company Kinoshita Group but no one has spoke up about that.
I'd like to say that the US may not have been involved in the first two (the first two were produced by StudioCanal and Heyday and some french companies) but it probably is with this one. ScAn2008 (talk) 19:11, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Elizabeth II

[edit]

It was revealed earlier today that she has a cameo in the film, and I'm trying to add a source for it, but this is not working:

Ritman, Alex (31 October 2024). "How 'Paddington in Peru' Harnessed the Power of Queen Elizabeth II, a First-Time Director and Olivia Colman for the Beloved Bear's Big-Screen Comeback". Variety. Retrieved 31 October 2024.{{cite web}}: CS1 maint: url-status (link)

Can someone help me out? Or does it need a URL for a Wayback Machine page (the one for the Variety page is nonexistent) and its archive date?

You don't need a Wayback Machine link or archive date. I would be happy to add your source to the article but where exactly does it say Elizabeth II has a cameo in the film? I might have missed it, it is a long piece from Variety. Commander Keane (talk) 00:20, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It says, "However fleeting, this very special moment in the long-awaited third Paddington film needed approval from Buckingham Palace". And here's an alternate archive. Kailash29792 (talk) 01:31, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792 I think I see now. They are using a photo/screenshot from the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II short film. Maybe I am being pedantic but I thought a Cameo appearance required you to be in the production to be called a "cameo". I will let someone else add the source to the article with wording they choose. Commander Keane (talk) 02:13, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, this article also claims Elizabeth II shows up, as does this YouTube Short by YouTuber Danno Cal Draws. Additionally, this news article claims Charles III also appears. 86.13.247.51 (talk) 20:21, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I added the appearances to the Casting and filming section, that seemed like the best place. I left out the word "cameo" even though Hello! directly uses it (the other sources do not). I could be wrong about what is considered a cameo, Cameo appearance needs to be analysed. Commander Keane (talk) 02:01, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
