Walking back and forth

[edit]

As a person who commonly paces, I'd like to see some information on the social aspects of pacing, its psychological causes, health effects or benefits of pacing, and people who are noted for their pacing habits. The act of walking back and forth across a room or hallway is a very common behavior; is there anyway to include this topic somewhere? --Palladmial (talk) 03:25, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, not on this page at least. I notice that the pace page at Wiktionary also doesn't cover this definition. This would be analogous psychologically to fidgeting, wouldn't it? I see some relevant mention of fidgeting in the articles Social computing, Anxiety, Tweaking (behavior), Tell (poker), Embarassment, Self control, Nonverbal communication, First aid, Ataxia telangiectasia, Mystery Method, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, Displacement gesture, ADHD predominantly inattentive, Positive behavior support, Gamesmanship, Major depressive episode, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Nicotine Anonymous. For someone who would want to start a proper pacing article, the information at Psychomotor agitation could also be helpful. __meco (talk) 17:52, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
