Use of high art phrase "sturm und drang"
[edit]It doesn't work. It is a German phrase for a period of literary history. It is much clearer to be specific about the dark aspect of Tomino's work instead of using high art concepts needlessly. I am going to change the phrasing and be more clear, but if anyone can think of a valid reason to refer to Tomino's work as Sturm und Drang, I'm open to discussing it. 63.100.44.98 02:24, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Dispute?
[edit]What exactly is the dispute in the "Popular reception" section? If you read articles on other Tomino works, you'll see that his works ARE famous for sturm und drang, and he does have the nickname "Kill 'em All." Snarfies 01:10, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd guess it's more the lack of sourced reviews, despite the claims that it was well received. Doceirias (talk) 21:11, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Names
[edit]As this is an English article, should we not be using the names as rendered in the English release. or does that matter? (eg. Ana Medaiyu, Cynthia Lane, Asuham Boonem, Meeya Laujin, Lioubov Smettana, etc) -Trent Arms 08:32, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, they should be used if they are the official romanisations. I did actually wonder why Lioubov was written 'Lubov' in the article. Antisora 10:36, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Character Resemblance
[edit]Here is a little known fact. The character Sara from this anime actually bears a striking, if not uncanny resemblance to another game/anime character, Matsuri Kato of Gunparade March.
Here is a website to the original game, released in 2000

- Not really notable for the article. And to be fair, trivia sections should be avoided.Antisora 09:49, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
You're links don't work.
[edit]The first two links leading out of Wikipedia do not work. One says the internet can't find it, and the other leads to a 404 error page. Neo Guyver (talk) 01:50, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Characters in the Anime
[edit]Are the relationships prior to the Wulfgusk Exodus vastly different in the anime as opposed to the manga? The summary section refers to Sara Kodama and Bello Korissha as Gainer's friends and Mamado Azaf as his schoolteacher; Gainer had never met any of these characters prior to the Exodus - in fact, Gainer doesn't attend school, he gets his education over the same computer network he plays video games on. Also, is it noteworthy that Gainer is extremely opposed to Exodus (I don't know how to pluralize "exodus" to be honest.) for the same reason he's an orphan? In fact, Gainer, Bello and Sara are all orphans. 67.149.192.84 (talk) 20:47, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Well I added my fair share, updated the characters section a bit.
[edit]First I have to say wow, almost 10 years since the anime aired and this page has so little, but onward to this post. I mainly added all the voice actors for the characters, as well as adding some characters that were more than just extras on screen (Nann, Toun, Zakki, etc). As well as added the "Five Wisemen" and Pelhar's nurse Elizabeth (the character Elizabeth was only ever in the ending credits when his nurse spoke, so my best guess is that's her name), although whenever the "Five Wisemen" were shown there were only ever four, so I don't know who that fifth is. I moved Adette up to the Exodus group because less than halfway through the series, she joins up with them, she was only with the SRA for a few episodes. Made the group London IMA for Asuham and Zakki, while Asuham did join the SRA late in the series before going awol, he seemed to still have authority with London IMA from what he said. Added the Others group for Karin and Martina, although Karin could possibly be put with London IMA and Martina with the Exodus, and on a similar note I didn't know where to put Ariel since he was with the SRA, but also still with the Exodus from what he said and did. Mostly just additions for characters in the credits that had more than just one line and no role whatsoever, and slight reorganization. I'm not good with descriptions so someone else can add those if someone will ever get to that.
And I'm also stumped on who Shinjin is, he's a character that was in the credits and is on ANN. Thing is, whenever I heard Paul St. Peter talk (credited as George C Cole), it was some random character off screen or just an extra and not a significant character, but he did the voice of one called Shinjin. So I didn't know what to do about that character in. 68.81.162.70 (talk) 05:11, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Update Request
[edit]I noticed that some of the information on this article is now outdated which it claimed that Sentai Filmworks had licence to this series and yet they didn't release it on Blu-ray for some reason. Now, Discotek Media will release it on Blu-ray in the future. Because of that, are you going to add up to date information? 94-kun (talk) 20:04, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
