Death penalty

what the hell is a death penalty??

This should be free of protection, as it will allow Wikipedia to hold more viable information. Vandalism is not the appropriate word to use here. "Vandalism" appears to describe it perfectly. But regardless, you are welcome to use any of several documented ways to add info to the article, provided that info has appropriate citations from reliablesources. It's already been demonstrated that non-protected was not viable, so editors have nobody to blame but themselves here. DMacks (talk) 20:13, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Established 1832

I don't think there is any evidence that the school was founded in 1832. The oldest building on the site was opened in the 1950s when the school was a secondary modern with a completely different name. The school changed its name in the 1970s to Outwood Grange when it became a comprehensive. Orientalmoons (talk) 16:08, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Slater/Wilkins

Who is the principal? Wilkins is all over the website's front page. I can't see any sign of Slater. What is correct, and what evidence is there? Having changed it to Wilkins I now feel unsure and have changed it back to Slater - but it could really do with some evidence. Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 11:01, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Principal is a guy called Martin Oliver. I think Wilkins and Slater moved up so that the school is now his. There's not real proof of it, other than the fact that I go to the school and that we recieved letters about it a few months ago. Magicdominatrix123 (talk) 09:16, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks very much for that, and sorry about my slow reply. That's interesting, and odd. Trouble is, as you probably know, we do need that "proof" - the policy is "verifiability trumps truth" or words to that effect. The isn't something like a prospectus or something is there which lists senior staff? That could almost do it. Otherwise we are a bit stuck when there seems to be nothing informative online. Is there anything on the school's website (a "welcome to our school" note from the principal, list of admin staff, etc.) or in a local news source ("Principal X says Y" or somesuch) or on a school-board website? DMacks (talk) 21:50, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

There is - it seems - an amazing lack of all that. The website only refers to Wilkins (see above) that I can find, and trying to find "Oliver" with the name of the school doesn't help much. You can quite easily find a staffing list, but it is a year out of date as it's for the 09-10 school year. I haven't yet tracked down anything newer. Best wishes DBaK (talk) 21:54, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Good enough to remove Wilkins as at least there's dispute among reliable sources. I don't think it can beat out the reliability of the rest of the school website (including quote on main page) to be included itself. Could someone volunteer to contact the school and ask them (and suggest that they correct the front page if wrong)? One person please, no need to flood their mailbox.
