Why included in The Celluloid Closet? Ernest?

I found this film in a list of movies referenced by the film (and book) The Celluloid Closet, but nothing in this summary indicates why it was included. Is it just because of "effete dance instructor Ernest," mentioned in the article? Lawikitejana (talk) 00:19, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
