Poorly understood and not treatable?
[edit]Look under "sudden hearing loss" on Medscape.com for how ototoxic agents cause cochlear damage, and for chelation and other treatment options. 24.5.236.123 (talk) 23:32, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
- See section below, I am planning to expand a lot more on ototoxicity management/monitoring because agreed, that section is not accurate to what is available today. Derica.parathundil (talk) 21:36, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
Proposal to replace current signs and symptoms section
[edit]The signs and symptoms section primarily discusses how the vestibular organs function rather than actually explaining the signs and symptoms. The names of these structures can be hyperlinked to their respective articles to leave space to actually discuss hallmarks of ototoxicity with better sources. For example classic ototoxic hearing loss and expected areas affected. Derica.parathundil (talk) 19:05, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- I am working on providing substantially more relevant information to the symptoms section to replace what is currently there. Update: I just added it in. I would like to delete the existing section that says there is no treatment since that is inaccurate.Derica.parathundil (talk) 21:35, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
An explanation of what it is
[edit]This page shows symptoms, agents that induce the condition, but, doesn't actually explain what the condition is, mechanism of action and so on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.225.133.157 (talk) 12:06, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
