Aqua is not an idol, he is an actor

[edit]

"This series follows the twins working together to become idols like their mother" this is untrue, however he does technically scout all the idols early on in the manga he is not part of the group 2A02:C7F:1E54:7000:3C6C:D11D:DAC9:64A3 (talk) 22:27, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The concept of an idol is not limited to a music career. Solaire the knight (talk) 20:40, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers in Plot section

[edit]

Too much information is included in plot section like who dies, breaks up and who is the father of the twins. Maybe someone can rewrite that? Rafalb8 (talk) 20:42, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:SPOIL; spoilers are never a reason to remove content. Xexerss (talk) 20:51, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why MyAnimeList should not be included

[edit]

I notice that there have been several attempts to add the series' placement on MyAnimeList (MAL) to the article. However, not only is MAL an unreliable source, the website is well-known for its susceptibility to review bombing, like when Funimation dropped Interspecies Reviewers, it was spammed up to #2. They claim to have rectified these issues, but I have seen many attempts off-site that have shown their policies against review bombing actually make it worse in some ways. It should also be noted that the MAL placement is not mentioned on the aforementioned Interspecies Reviewers article, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, or Kaguya-sama: Love Is War (whose third season was briefly number one when it was airing). Link20XX (talk) 21:58, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that MAL rankings are not particularly relevant here, at least until an RS reports on them. As you say, MAL rankings are very susceptible to review bombing, which has arguably already taken place. GhostStalker (Got a present for ya! / Mission Log) 22:36, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MAL being susceptible to review-bombing is no longer really the case thanks to changes following the said Interspecies Reviewers incident. Link20XX, you say it's now worse, but I'd like to know how you came to that conclusion with evidence. There may still be bias votes by otherwise-legitimate individuals but I've seen no further big incidents.

The real issue is that FMAB losing the top spot to a hyped-up, currently-airing show isn't noteworthy anymore if it ever was. This was not the 1st time it happened (in fact I believe it was at least the 4th), and it won't be the last. An incomplete rating should never be taken as seriously to start with. In any case I agree this article should be consistent with others like it. Karmakaze TV (talk) 13:25, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware that MAL claims to have fixed the issue, but I have good evidence that suggests the contrary. Unfortunately, this evidence is off-wiki and posting it on-wiki would be a privacy violation, so I cannot do so. But this whole is discussion is moot anyway since it is now 13th. False amount of volumes

[edit]

there are only 1 volume released not 11 Onlygoodvibez (talk) 15:39, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain what exactly do you mean? Xexerss (talk) 15:43, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you're referring to the English release, then yes, only one volume is out right now, but for the original Japanese version, 11 volumes are currently released. Harushiga (talk) 15:55, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ai Hoshino article?

[edit]

Ai Hoshino is getting a lot of attention recently, and some fans have even called her "best girl", so can we make an article for her? HiGuys69420 (talk) 16:48, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I'd say "probably not," as many editors oppose standalone articles for fictional characters that are seen as easily covered as part of the main article on their source, and "the fans are calling her best girl" generally isn't a rationale that would stand up were said article taken to AfD.
Nonetheless, if you think the sources exist to support an article, then nothing is stopping you. silviaASH (inquire within) 17:57, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok in that case can we make a list of characters article HiGuys69420 (talk) 17:32, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Probably. Considering how long the manga has gotten, there may well be enough characters (and sources about the cast of characters generally) to support that. Again, feel free to create it if you're so inclined. WP:BOLD. silviaASH (inquire within) 01:45, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey guys, I made an article based on Ai

[edit]

Well, I made an article based on Ai. Feel free to edit so it can be an official article! Draft:Ai Hoshino Starkiryu64 (talk) 02:20, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could somebody please make and article about Ai Hoshino, Aqua Hoshino and Kana Arima please?

Ai Hoshino would be understandable, maybe Ruby and Aqua as well but why Kana, too? --Goroth (talk) 13:22, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Shes popular in the community she said to be best character Deciartem (talk) 04:51, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Kana is the most popular female character, much more popular than Ruby, who is seen more as a second MC than a waifu for fans. So I think that if someone decides to write a separate article about it, there will be no problems with sources. Solaire the knight (talk) 20:45, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Japan Expo Awards

[edit]

@Xexerss: There was a reason why I used the archive.is page for archieving the weblinks. The Webarchive does not save the source well. Instead, it shows only a blank page. --Goroth (talk) 13:19, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Goroth: I'll change them right now. Xexerss (talk) 17:57, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Xexerss for now the direct links are available but the question is how long are they available? Will the links be dead once the voting ends? --Goroth (talk) 07:38, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Goroth: Probably, but as long as they are available, I think we should leave the direct links. Once they no longer work, the status must obviously be changed. Xexerss (talk) 09:44, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Xexerss it's definetly okay if you want to handle it like this. Normally, I am contribuing at German-languaged Wikipedia and I handle it like this if I know that the links definitely will be deleted so an archived version exists. I had some cases regarding chart notations in Japan (rankings below 50th place at Oricon charts) which are not sourceable due to missing archive. --Goroth (talk) 10:49, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please take your time describing each new chapter.

[edit]

I request that you take your time describing the details of each new chapter released before the manga reaches its final chapter next week. This is very sensational and could literally turn out to be a mudslide given the development of events at the moment. I don't want to turn this into a fan debate, but this all feels very much like a fantasy about how your loved ones will react to your death, especially after we had a whole 2-3 chapters about the importance of Aqua's current identity and the value of his life to his happiness and the lives of his loved ones. Solaire the knight (talk) 20:43, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nuances of describing critical reactions to the finale

[edit]

I'm still looking for sources, but for the future, where is the best place to describe criticism of the ending and describe the negative reaction of fans to it? In the reception section or in the controversy section along with a dispute over an arc about cyberbullying? Or depending on the context of the source?
