Rename

[edit]

I propose to rename this article to Open data in science as there is no evidence for the term used at the moment. Juandev (talk) 17:48, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think open scientific data or open research data would be the best choice: both labels are commonly used in the literature and the policy debates. Alexander Doria (talk) 11:24, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexander Doria and Juandev: We have other data in Category:Open data, and more people might create more articles. Do either of you have suggestions for a general pattern for all types of data?
Business data, government data, and the rest? Bluerasberry (talk) 12:38, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bluerasberry: It's an excellent question. Personally I would favor this pattern "open" + domain name + "data", as it's less ambiguous (here, it could be also understood as data about open science). It also highlights better the specific cultures of the data: it's not a just a generic piece of data but the product of scientific work, business structures, government agencies… Alexander Doria (talk) 14:14, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
