Theres no new placement of the camshaft for the 12v in 1986, all the 12v engines from '68 until end of production had the camshaft "inside the head," hence the engine name CIH (cam in head) Only changes made to the 12v when introduced to Senator B and Omega A was going from Bosch LE-Jetronic to Bosch Motronic, aswell as bigger valves on the 3.0. The 2.5 was gained volum to 2.6 and had a reworked cyl-head and intake at the introduction of the 3.0 24v (the 2.6 remained 12v)

Irmscher made 3.6 versions of both the 12v and 24v, aswell as 4.0 version of the 24v for the Irmscher Senator 4.0

Mantzel also made a 4.0 24v verson, but it differs in bore/stroke from the Irmscher version.

The bigger 12v enigens also appeard in the german manufacteur Bitter's vehicles.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Classic new (talkcontribs) 08:59, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
