Requested move 23 April 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the pages to any particular titles at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 03:32, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose, but move One Kiss (song) to One Kiss (Calvin Harris song) WP:NOPRIMARY here. Something's wrong with the requester's pageviews link, I don't see evidence this getting more views than all others combined, and there is no evidence of dominant general usage. The current title is WP:INCDAB though considering other songs by that name like One Kiss (Eddie Cochran song). -- Netoholic @ 21:07, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
- We don't use artist names unless other songs have articles. Unreal7 (talk) 21:20, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
- Sure we do, per WP:DABREDIRECT, its a clearer way of providing a link for users. The Cochran redirect takes the reader to the track listing section of the album that contains it. -- Netoholic @ 21:23, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
- No, we do not.[2] Unreal7 (talk) 08:54, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose WP:RECENT a new song released 6 April 2018, vs One Kiss (film) and others, why has it got to be promoted to all-time encyclopaedic default? In ictu oculi (talk) 06:42, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- We need to move to One Kiss (Calvin Harris song) too, since "One Kiss" in GBooks refers to one of Romberg's main songs from The New Moon and New Moon (1930 film). In ictu oculi (talk) 06:46, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- You're the only user on Wikipedia who ever brings up Google Books. It's not relevant. We came to a consensus in 2016 that we don't use artist names if it's the only song with an article. Unreal7 (talk) 08:50, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- But that's wrong. Per the very first line of WP:Disambiguation, all that is required is that another song be "covered" on Wikipedia - even if its only in a section of another article (track listings sections of an album article qualify). -- Netoholic @ 09:37, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- Yes I'm the only person at RM who has ever read the second part of the WP:PT guideline. No, obviously not. What's more the issue Unreal7 is that you seem to come to RM frequently with pop songs in the charts without bothering to check in long term sources what else exists. I could be wrong as I'm not keeping a record but offhand I don't recall you ever having done any check before launching this kind of pop song baseline grab. You haven't done one here and you object when someone does. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:47, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

- Just in case y'all want to move this to a disambiguated namespace, despite no other song with the same title has an article on Wikipedia, what you want is One Kiss (Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa song), not One Kiss (Calvin Harris song), since both are lead artists. - Add the name of the Vice reviewer
- "despite its inability to" → "despite an inability to"
- Either remove the brackets release year or add it with [] around
- The Glamour ranking belongs in the Accolades section instead
Done
Accolades
[edit]- This can stay as its own section despite the above being trimmed somewhat, since it is very large on its own
- The year-end lists should be written out in prose, since five do not warrant a table and add the Glamour ranking to the same para, directly after them in it though
- A second para should be added to this section, which should be used to summarise some of the main awards and nominations but keep that table, however
- All columns should be sortable apart from the ref one
- Category → Award
Done
Commercial performance
[edit]- The term "dethroning" is not encyclopedic; try using something else like "replacing", for example
- ""Nice for What" (2018), becoming" → ""Nice for What" (2018) while becoming"
- "single following "New Rules" (2017)." → "single, following "New Rules" (2017) for the latter artist."
- "in the top spot, being dethroned by" → "at the top spot, ultimately being succeeded by"
- "Because of that," → "Due to the eight consecutive weeks,"
- "both artists longest running" → "both artists' longest running"
- "of 53 weeks on the chart," → "of 53 weeks on the UK Singles Chart,"
- "departing it" → "departing the chart"
- "from the" → "by the"
- "for selling 1.8 million track-equivalent units." → "for selling 1.8 million track-equivalent units in the UK."
- "reached the summit of charts" → "topped the charts"
- "to eventually peak at" → "going on to peak at"
- "its eight week, keeping that position" → "its eighth week, remaining at the position"
- "It was certified 5x platinum" → "The song was certified quintuple platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA)"
- "350,000 track-equivalent unit sales in the country." → "sales of 350,000 track-equivalent units in the country."
- "number 6" → "number six"
- New Zealand and Canada should be swapped in their sentence, since Oceania comes before North America in this order as the third para is the US
- Mention that the New Zealand position was on the NZ Singles Chart with the target
- Identify Canada's chart as the Canadian Hot 100 and wikilink
- "In the United States, "One Kiss" debuted" → "In the US, "One Kiss" debuted"
- "to a peak of 26," → "to a peak of number 26,"
- "On American radio charts," → "On US radio charts," with the target, since America is two entire continents not just the US
- "and 32 respectively on the Adult Top 40, Mainstream Top 40, Rhythmic charts," → "and 32 on the Adult Top 40, Mainstream Top 40, Rhythmic charts," since "respectively" is only needed once in this sentence
- "It additionally topped the" → "The song additionally topped the US"
- "and reached number 2 on the" → "and reached number two on"
- "for track-equivalent sales of 2 million units." → "for sales of 2,000,000 certified units in the US."

- "and then on" → "later being released to"
- Write out here who the video was directed by since this is known; also, is there any background info such as how the director became involved with Harris?
- All I could find is that he previously directed many visuals of Harris'. LOVI33 23:50, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- That is fine for background info, nice job. --K. Peake 16:11, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

- The releases named as various need to have multiple citations to verify that claim
- Not done. For services like Beatport and Tidal, when one goes onto their website, they don't have a specific country/territory defined. You can also see with the link of the iTunes ones that no territory is defined as this is from iTunes 2018. So therefore it is kind of universal. Even if it wasn't I couldn't have multiple citations as all have been removed from all platforms after the remix EP release. There was one Apple Music one that I have done though. [edit]- On hold after a long review, this article is very large but you have some good writing skills. If you are confused about any of the changes that I requested or have reasons they should not be implemented, do not feel free to reach out! --K. Peake 14:16, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
