Infobox

[edit]

Does anybody know how to make the tour chronology section more horizontal and less vertical so that the info box is not as large and the text is spread out rather than pushed downwards? Is that possible at all? --Lolcakes25 (talk) 16:05, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Promotion - Music Video "RUN"

[edit]

Long and better explanation - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2631710/Jay-Z-Beyonce-release-surprise-fake-movie-trailer-On-The-Run-Tour-featuring-stars-Hollywood-blockbuster.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.244.118.204 (talk) 15:53, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Rumors

[edit]

I've removed mention of the rumors as rumors are generally unencyclopaedic. Considering that these began through a Hollywood gossip website, then circulated by Wendy Williams and the Daily Mail, I don't believe that they should be documented as significant, especially when Forbes and Billboard shot these down. —JennKR | 15:35, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough, I really only included them in the first place to try and be more neutral rather than just praising the commercial aspects, but you're absolutely right, especially since the commercial aspects are more factual rather than opinion based. @JennKR: --Lolcakes25 (talk) 15:58, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Lolcakes25: Yeah, it would be different if say Forbes had began the rumour, but the fact this came from a gossip site makes me think this should not included. Also, here are some links that might be useful to the page:

Potential move?

[edit]

This isn't a move request per se, but I think the tour is generally being stylized and reported in press releases and publications as "On the Run Tour: Beyoncé and Jay-Z", as seen here, here, and in the official press release here. Obviously the tour will still be referred to as simply the On the Run Tour, but for consistencies sake and what is found in the both primary and third party sources, this would be a better article name, no? Lolcakes25 (talk) 20:49, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Adabow: Hey, the reason I moved the page was because of this above but no one responded and I asked another user who said it wouldn't be a controversial move. I have no worries whatsoever over such a minor name change, but any thoughts about the above and why the title you reverted to is preferred? Lolcakes25 (talk) 07:16, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The question is whether it is titled "On the Run Tour" or "On the Run Tour: Beyoncé and Jay-Z". Since a significant majority of the sources call it the former, that is what the article should be titled. (It seems that the other name could refer to the upcoming HBO airing, which is what Forbes is referring to.) However, the existence of another article means that disambiguation is needed, which is done in brackets. Adabow (talk) 13:14, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • I would write that Beyonce is a performer, not singer.
Not done - I can do this, but it seems a bit iffy. She is a singer first and foremost, just as Jay-Z is a rapper. It is up to you here. ThirdWard (talk) 23:43, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
She's not just a singer, though. Because she is a dancer, choreographer etc. all the things that she does with the show, it's more accurate to say performer for Beyonce. If it was Mariah, you would say singer and songwriter. If it was Celine, you would say singer. If it was Rihanna, you would say recording artist.  — ₳aron 09:45, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

MeLo-X involvement

[edit]

This article should say something about the involvement of MeLo-X in creating sounds for the visual elements. For instance, MeLo-X chopped up and remixed the Kanye song "Hell of a Life" which played during the concert's car chase scene.

  • Ramirez, Erika (September 20, 2014). "Producer MeLo-X Gives Inside Look at Beyonce & Jay Z's On the Run Tour". Billboard.

There's more out there about the creative elements brought by MeLo-X. It should be summarized here for the reader. Binksternet (talk) 03:27, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
