Merge in St Clement's Church, Romney Marsh
[edit]This is only a suggestion, I'm personally 50:50 on whether the church article should be merged in as it's undeniably quite an interesting church. However it is much the most interesting thing about the village and I can't help thinking that there's likely to be a lot of duplication between that article and this one. And the church article is maybe not as obvious as it could be, and seems to be being neglected where it is - orphan tag etc. So maybe a merger would give the impetus for one good article where two stubby ones currently exist? I thought I'd canvas views, it's worth thinking about at least. 86.27.171.145 (talk) 13:44, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Link to "Romney Marsh Gazetteer" is dead link.
[edit]"Romney Marsh Gazetteer" links to a general Tesco.com website which gives no hint of a gazetteer for any part of the country.
The link to "Romney Marsh Gazetteer" has been used against "village" in the introductory paragraph for all the small villages in the Romney Marsh area. It needs to be removed or replaced with a more approprate link, not just for Old Romney but for all the settlements close by. --Oldontarian (talk) 13:08, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
Roman name?
[edit]"Vetus Rumellenum" seems extremely implausible as a Roman name, and is not listed in The Placenames of Roman Britain. I could believe it was a Latin name given in later times as a translation of the English name. --rossb (talk) 11:39, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
