Please fix infobox

[edit]

If this dynasty ended in the 1600s, why does the infobox list capitals only for the years 1368–1388? Can this be fixed? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 06:22, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why English-language sources tend to extend the dynasty till the 17th century (other than, I suppose, to simplify the situation). As the article itself points out, the Yuan title was abolished in 1388, and that is where Chinese historiography tends to end the Northern Yuan. Thereafter the eastern and western Mongols are treated as separate regimes. Mongolian historiography also admits that there was then a period of disunity.
