Most people are from Northern , Central and Eastern Odisha. Perth , Frankfurt and Berlin are the most Odia populated cities. Muscat is also one of the most Odia spoken city in the Middle East.

Durga puja, Rajo , Kali puja and Ratha Yatra is widely celebrated by the Odia diaspora in those countries for many those who cannot come back to Odisha but the sound of the ghonta-bell and drums makes every homesick Odia to return to Odisha for Durga puja , Kali puja and Ratha Yatra

Dalma bhato , Ilishi macho ,potolo bhaja, pakalo - macho bhaja, rasagula and chena podo makes every homesick Odia to return to their motherland Odisha .

They are a vital source of income for the economy of Odisha.
