What does Benny Morris call Nitaf?
[edit]Can't find any such name in Morris. But there is a Beit Nattif] in his 2004 book, listed as being in the Jerusalem corridor. We do not have an entry for such a village in our 1948 template. Perhaps it is one in the same? Tiamuttalk 16:02, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- I see now we do have an article on Bayt Nattif in the Hebron district. This is quite te puzzle then. Tiamuttalk 17:28, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Nitaf is not in Morris, not according to Esber...(nor have I been able to find it). Recall: Khalidi hade quite a few more villages than Morris. Huldra (talk) 22:25, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
Does anyone have this paper?
[edit]Frantzman, p. 149 has a reference that Nataf was founded by an effendi from Abu Ghosh that built homes near the spring of Ein Nataf.....reference:

Does anyone have that paper? Huldra (talk) 22:23, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Huldra: Check your email. Zerotalk 23:47, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! Huldra (talk) 23:54, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Zero0000: Yeah, well, now I have had a quick read.....and I cannot find any reference, neither to Nitaf/Nataf, nor Abu Ghosh (Frantzman doesn't give any page ref) ...what am I missing? (It might be in the notes? They're so small I can hardly read them), Huldra (talk) 20:23, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Huldra: You can zoom in by clicking on it, and zoom out by control-clicking on it. But I don't see Nitaf either, and it does not appear on the map. I'll look further when a PDF file arrives in the next few days. Zerotalk 00:54, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hmm, that is not an easy read...but searching for Nitaf, or Nataf, I get 0 hits. Same for Abu. Well, it wouldn't be the first ref. that Frantzman has messed up. Huldra (talk) 23:22, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
- Now I have a PDF file and I quite sure that no spelling of Natif is mentioned. Zerotalk 01:04, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. Sigh, I wish at least some of the references that Frantzman gives turned out to be correct...Huldra (talk) 23:14, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
