- Nicholas Williams (disambiguation) → Nicholas Williams
- Nicholas Williams → Nicholas Williams (linguist)
– There's no WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, so DAB should be at base name. Also, this should be merged with Nick Williams, where every single entry uses "Nick" as short for "Nicholas". Ortizesp (talk) 05:47, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and would also support the use of alternative qualifiers Nicholas Williams (scholar) or Nicholas Williams (poet). Moreover, would likewise support merger of the Nicholas Williams (disambiguation) page, unnecessarily created five days ago, on April 28, into the Nick Williams disambiguation page which has existed for nearly 14 years (since September 2007). However, if there is consensus, the Nick Williams dab could be renamed "Nicholas Williams". —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 23:36, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
- Note that I have boldly merged Nick Williams (a disambiguation page with no primary topic) into Nicholas Williams (disambiguation). It is clearly confusing to have 2 separate pages given most of the Nicks are stated in their articles as having been born Nicholas, the others probably were given the very common abbreviation "Nick" for "Nicolas", and one entry on the Nicholas page is a redirect to an article actually titled Nick. The question therefore is what's the primary topic of all the Nicholases and Nicks. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 07:58, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support. I agree there's no primary topic. (linguist) is OK but I'd prefer (poet) (but not (scholar) which is ambiguous). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 07:58, 6 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:12, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Celticist, not poet
[edit]"Nicholas Williams (poet)" is not a good title. Nicholas earned his living as professor of Irish before his retirement. He has written poetry in Irish and Cornish (some translation, some original), but has translated millions of words into Cornish (including the entire Bible), far more prose than poetry. I recommend the page be moved to "Nicholas Williams (Celticist)" and I'm going to be bold and make the change. -- Evertype·✆ 14:20, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
