Birtish superheroes v American superheroes

I Just finished reading the New Statesmen collected graphic novel.

Along with Watchmen and a few others, I noticed how different we Brits portray superheroes...
...Much more focus on their humanness, and less on their powers and world-saving.

As with Watchmen, the heroes are flawed and the world is not better off for their existence, corruption and public deception is common - all in the name of power in the hands of a few.

Thoughts ??
