@Mccapra: As someone who knows Vietnamese, I don't trust Google Translate in this case. Although the same role, but Thủy quân lục chiến (Marine) and Hải quân đánh bộ (Naval infantry) are not really the same. In the People's Army of Vietnam, they do not call the amphibious force "Thủy quân lục chiến", but instead, they put this force under the authority of the Vietnam People's Navy and call it "Binh chủng Hải quân đánh bộ" (Naval Infantry Arms). It's like an arm of the Navy. I put a lot of thought into trying to compile this name into English, believe me. Glad to hear from you. STAIDCONTEXT (talk) 10:28, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@STAIDCONTEXT: ok thanks. The current title really doesn’t make sense in English (“arms” means “weapons”, not “people”). “Naval infantry” would be fine, or perhaps “Naval infantry armed forces”. Mccapra (talk) 10:35, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mccapra: armed forces is lực lượng vũ trang, it doesn't sound like a force attached to a command. I find Google Translate doesn't distinguish this. However, according to Wiktionary, binh chủng can be translated into English as armed services. What do you think?
Yes I agree that would work. Mccapra (talk) 10:56, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@STAIDCONTEXT: did you change your mind about this? It seems there’s a redirect running in the wrong direction. I was going to delete it and move the article over to the “armed services” title. Mccapra (talk) 20:50, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mccapra: I can't move it, there's another disambiguation with the same title. — Preceding unsigned comment added by STAIDCONTEXT (talkcontribs) 01:11, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Could it be that "arm" is meant here in the sense of "branch", so that the page name should be in the singular, not plural? – Athaenara 08:12, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
just moved to the new “armed services” title. @Athaenara: that’s not what I got from the discussion about with the article creator. Mccapra (talk) 13:43, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Athaenara: That makes sense. Honestly, it's difficult to translate like this when there's no official information about the name of the armed service in different languages. STAIDCONTEXT (talk) 02:05, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
