Polish Parliament and The National Assembly ARE NOT synonyms!
[edit]According to Polish Constitution, the National Assembly is the name of both houses of Polish parliament - the Sejm and the Senate - ONLY when they are in joint session. It should not be used as a synonym to the term "Polish parliament". Unfortunately, many Wikipedia articles mentioning the Polish parliament link to this page. Also, the redirection from the term "Polish parliament" to this page should be deleted. Maybe it would be a good idea to create the page "Parliament of the Republic of Poland" with explanation of term "the National Assembly" only as part of it? 89.231.199.203 (talk) 00:44, 24 September 2011 (UTC)BoldSnake
- Hmmm. The article does make it clear that NA refers to the sitting of both chambers. Polish Wikipedia does not have a page on "parlament polski" or such. I don't think we need an article on the subject, but perhaps a disambig would be more appropriate? PS. - I think that separate articles about the parliament, the National Assembly and each of the two houses would be an overkill. But how about creating a new article, Parliament of Poland, with "National Assembly" as one of its sections? National Assembly could then redirect to that section. This would be in line with articles about other countries' parliaments (one article each for a bicameral parliament and both houses) and at the same time reduce the confusion whether "National Assembly" is the correct name for the Polish parliament. — Kpalion(talk) 20:28, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
- I do think that NA is notable enough to remain as it is. No objection to attempting to write a PoP article, of course. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:46, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
- Well, is it? It only gathers for about an hour once in five years. Looking at the article as it is now, it seems there's not much to say about the Assembly (only the prose is actually about the Assembly; everything else, like the infobox, doesn't really belong here, but would belong in an article about the parliament). I'm not saying we should never have a separate article about the Assembly. But how about making it a section of Parliament of Poland for a start and splitting it out once it grows big enough for a standalone article? — Kpalion(talk) 22:45, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
