Iris

[edit]

Removed "Iris". The facts of this article refer to the original Nampeyo, whose pottery was initially discoved by Fewkes. She is referred to as "Hano Nampeyo}, "Nampeyo of Hano", or simply "Nampeyo". Geneology records show Iris to be the grand-daughter of "Mama Nampeyo", and daughter of Fannie.Amerindianarts 21:39, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this recent addition:

She avoided the use of symmetry in her decorative schemes and, after 1905, increasingly incorporated design elements believed to have resonance with her responsibilities as matriarch of the Corn Clan, a role she assumed following the death of her mother, White Corn.

Some of the Nampeyo pots we have photos of at Commons are symmetrical, so the first sentence is incorrect. The second sentence needs a source to be used. --Pete Tillman (talk) 15:36, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
