Consolidate Resonance Pt. 1 and 2?

Should we consolidate the two pages? Resonance Pt. 2 is a repackage of Resonance, right? We can just consolidate them together and add a second track listing to the page.41matt14 (talk) 22:03, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's better to separate them/not combine them. The Part 2 is not advertised as a repackage, like Neo Zone of NCT 127 (where in its wiki article, the first issue and the repackage of the album is merged). Hiroctzen (talk) 06:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: Tho Pt. 2 is not advertised as a repackage, I think it will be good (somehow) to merge the Pt. 2 in Pt. 1 and so that we can put the new single "RESONANCE" which acts as the finale of the Resonance album. My concerns now would be the article, for instance— the album sales, will you guys put it on the re-issue section or not? And general details for the Pt. 2 will not appear on google search results because it is merged with Pt. 1 article. What do you guys think? Hiroctzen (talk) 06:55, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to agree, it isn't advertized as a repackage, but they are two parts of one album, as far as promotions go (and the name). It would be difficult to manage, perhaps we ought to just split the article in two but keep all the same sections, like have a promotion section for pt 1 and a promotion section for pt 2? It could get a little messy though. 41matt14 (talk) 12:47, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still new to wikipedia, on how to maneuver, manage and/or arrange an article. But if you(and other editors/contributors) think that merging them is a good thing to do then, we should perform it? Hiroctzen (talk) 05:21, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Created a new discussion on Pt. 1 article but no one answered yet. I think its better to merge them and rename the article as "NCT 2020 Resonance". As I said on the discussion on the Pt. 1 article, some things are redundant for both articles like the music show wins and year-end lists— we can solge this by merging the two. On NCT's discography, we will not put the Pt. 2 on re-issue (Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 will stay on Studio Albums), but the page will be redirected to NCT 2020 Resonance (if the merge will happen). Also with this merge, I think we can put the RESONANCE single that wraps up the whole RESONANCE album/promotion. I wish there will be more people who could decide and help us with the change. What do you think? Hiroctzen (talk) 09:41, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have also never done any merging but I would love to help out. I will check other articles like this and reply later. EN-Jungwon 10:42, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that we can cover two parts on one article, then we do not need to repeat the Background section. Let's keep the other sections separate for each Part (such as production, release, etc) as readers may come looking for information about one part specifically. --PeaceNT (talk) 16:16, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I made a draft page here. Since no one has objected to the merge we can start merging both the articles. EN-Jungwon 16:27, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think the draft's okay. Let's just make some revisions/additions then I guess the merge is ready to go. What can you say guys?Hiroctzen (talk) 10:32, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'd just like to say that although I'm not really helping out with the merge (really the only edits I make are tracklists), I am supportive of the move. I thought it was a good idea the day the Part 2 page was made.41matt14 (talk) 17:56, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
One one hand, we don't necessarily need to merge the two parts. The Misconceptions of You, The Misconceptions of Me, and The Misconceptions of Us, another set of albums, this time released for SHINee in 2013, managed to have stable standalone articles. I don't see how these two can't.

On the other hand, Part 2 is more of a repackage of part one, and it doesn't make sense to count it as its own separate studio album. So a merge could potentially help with that. - K-popguardian (talk) 18:15, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Hiroctzen: @41matt14: @EN-Jungwon: @PeaceNT: Just noticed on some music pages Resonance Pt. 2 is marked as "The 2nd album" but part 1 isn't. I think this is a Seoulite or Coup de'tat or Never Gonna Dance Again situation. If that's the case, the pages should be merged since these are both separate parts of the 2nd album, with Pt 2 being officially marked as the complete 2nd part. - K-popguardian (talk) 19:24, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
