Ribosome in the lead
[edit]Ribosome is not a multiprotein complex, and not an enzyme. Ribosome is an RNA-protein complex (scaffold is mainly rRNA) and due to the catalytic site position, ribosome is a ribozyme. Should this article be moved to "biomolecular complex"? Because then one could include any stable complex determined by computational or structural means and may include DNA (nucleosome=DNA + protein), RNA (ribosome, spliceosome, telomerase,...= RNA + protein), protein, lipid (transmembrane protein complexes usually have some essential lipids bound), sugars (glycosylation of various proteins in complexes),... List of papers about stoichiometry determination
[edit]An article Protein stoichiometry has been proposed for deletion. The text makes no sense, but I thought that the attached list of measurement methods may contain useful sources, so rescued it here as a backup.
- Absolute Quantification (AQUA)[1]
- Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM)[1]
- Fluorescence microscopy[2]
- Step-wise photobleaching of dye-labelled subunits (photobleaching)[3]
- hydrophobic photolabeling (HyPLa)[4]
- peptide-based mass spectrometry[5]
- proteomics-based mass spectrometry[6]
- cell fusion and single molecule imaging[7]
- isotope-coded mass spectrometry[8]
