The main east campus has a run-down appearance. When I attended back in the early 1980s the student body was mainly low-class blue collar folks attempting to escape their socio-economic ruts. It was also the era of the Student Revolutionary Strike Force that attempted to counter the sport star-cheerleader rah rah attitude that made MJC reminiscent of a 1950s high school. We livened the place up a bit. 68.13.191.153 22:45, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

This was in the intro. It's uncited (may be covered by BLP), a bit old (over a year with no comment on its impact) and not paritcularly significant (IMO).
Its current president is Dr. Richard Rose who received a vote of no confidence by the faculty on December 11, 2007.[citation needed]
Facilities
Removed this whole section since it just refers to two events, neither of which seems significant
In the year 1985 an asbestos remediation program was conducted on the College, in which asbestos containing pipe lagging was removed and disposed of with proper manifests at off site locations(Earth Metrics, 1989). Sometime prior to 1989 at the College, there was an unauthorized release of diesel fuel to the environment, with an unknown quantity of fuel being discharged.
To Do
- When was MJC founded?
- Need more references!
Graffiti Bowl
There's this www.mjc.edu but goggle has only 757 raw hits for 'graffiti bowl'. It doesn't seem to be the same sense as bowl game. Nickname? RJFJR (talk) 16:41, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Free Speech
A student was prevented from handing out the Constitution (on Constitution Day). The JC was sued and came to an agreement with FIRE and the student. This is notable. https://www.thefire.org/victory-modesto-junior-college-settles-students-first-amendment-lawsuit/, https://www.nationalreview.com/2014/02/college-loses-war-against-constitution-alec-torres/ , modbee.com/news/local/education/article3155056.html Kdammers (talk) 14:25, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
