Texan, Texican, Tejano

[edit]

At the time, there was a distinction between Texan, Texican, and Tejano. Under the historical contect, I believe it is incorrect to say that the expedition was carried out by Texans, as it was a combination of Texans and Texicans, mostly the latter (I think).

Texan = non-Mexican native to Texas Texican = US immigrant to Texas Tejano (sp?) = Mexican native to Texas

"In what came to be known as the Black Bean Death Lottery"

[edit]

A google search turned up only 20 references to this phrase, many of them obviously copied off of this Wiki page. It's never been used in a publication available in Google Book Search. "Black Bean Lottery" gets 186 references on Google, while "Black Bean Episode" appears 469 times and is the title preferred by the Handbook of Texas, probably the most scholarly encyclopedia on Texas history in use today. I've changed the statement to reflect these facts. 69.227.126.47 16:20, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
