Thanks everyone for all the input! Hyperlinks to other wikipedia articles that might give a reader without a scientific background some basic information, like the sympathetic nervous system, were added. Also, a picture was added from the Wikipedia Commons of the sympathetic nervous system; not the most specific picture relating to microneurography but there was not a picture of microneurographic imaging in the Commons. Links to the papers of some clinical trials that implemented microneurography were added to the page. The Introduction section was also moved to the very top of the page as suggested. Thanks for the suggestions, we moved the "advantages and disadvantages" section for ultrasound guidance right under the ultrasound guidance topic to make it more organized. We also got rid of the same citation for the paragraphs that had multiple citations of the same source. We also tried to incorporate more sources.Gracek917 (talk) 01:28, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all of the advice guys! We made sure to link all of the articles that were cited in the article. In addition, we linked pruritis to an article so as not to add unnecessary information. We also proofread thoroughly for any grammatical or spelling errors that were present in our article and deleted any extraneous or repetitive information. We were unfortunately unable to hyperlink some suggested terms such MSNA because of a lack of relevant articles on wikipedia, therefore we hope that our explanations within our own article are sufficient to understand our topic. Looks good, your article is very detailed. A few suggestions: hyperlink to other Wikipedia pages throughout your article. Also, I think you should include right away in your introduction (first sentence above the outline) the purpose of this technique instead of saying what the technique involves. I think you can also do away with some of the background information about the types of fibers studied using this method; if you link to the page describing these methods there will be plenty of information. I'm also curious, what kind of clinical trials are using this technique? You mention this at the beginning of the "Implementing Microneurography" section. As for organization, I'd consider reorganizing the "Advantages" and "Disadvantages" so that you don't have as subsections "Advantages of Ultrasound Guidance" and "Disadvantages of Ultrasound Guidance." Overall, good work! Reedich (talk) 01:24, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that this article was very informative regarding the topic of microneurography. I particularly was interested in the methods used to research this particular field of neuroscience. For improvement, I think there should be more of an introduction into the article; you should summarize some of the information that you cover later in the article. Also, some of the terms on your page should be linked to other Wikipedia pages, as it gives some background knowledge of the subject to those who may be unfamiliar. I'd like to see inclusion of information from more resources in your final piece, maybe to add more information to the subsections in "Implementing Microneurography." Hey guys, I liked your article a lot and found it very informative. Suggestions: • Hyperlink certain terms throughout the article. Just a few examples are things like “sympathetic nervous system”, “myelinated fibers”, “MSNA”. Essentially anything which the layperson might not have knowledge of coming into the article. • Use more resources if possible. Even if multiple resources say the same thing, being able to cite both of them allows the article more legitimacy. • In the Mano, Iwase, and Toma article, there is mention that microneurography can be used to investigate both myelinated and unmyelinated nerves. It might be interesting if you could mention this more in depth and state whether there is a significant difference of results or methods between the study of myelinated and unmyelinated neurons with Microneurology. I’m not fully sure if you were doing this at the beginning of the methods section but if you were, just ignore my suggestion. • I enjoyed your section on the history of microneurography. I think it provided some background to the topic which is sometimes lost in other articles. Combined with discussion of the techniques and neuroscientific implications, your article proves very informative. • The section on Pruritus under Implementing Microneurography could use some expansion. • I know it’s difficult because my group had trouble finding an informative picture, but if you can find a picture, it might act as a nice visual companion to the article. Overall, great article and a nice read. Lollila110 (talk) 19:43, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Due to the limited amount of information on the topic of Pruritus with microneurography, we could only add another short description. Gracek917 (talk) 02:41, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I thought this article was very well written, and thoroughly describes many of the facets of microneurography. Here are my suggestions for peer review.

-First, I think it might be helpful if you expanded your first line a little bit to give the reader more of an idea of what microneurography is. Or you could just place your introduction at the top.

-In the history paragraph it is unnecessary to cite the same article two times in that one paragraph if there is no citation between them. Same in nociceptors paragraph.

-Very good job of dividing the subject matter into an appropriate number of paragraphs

-A picture of the procedure or of some of the materials used could really help your article. It will give the reader a good visualization of the processes involved. I think it is best to utilize Wikipedia commons at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page in order to bypass a lot of the copyright information you would normally have to do.

-Some comma errors

-Period missing in implementing microneurography paragraph.

-Include more information in vasodilation, pruritus, and peripheral neural activity paragraphs.

-Linking key words will be very helpful to your readers. There are many scientific words used in this article, and linking those important ones will allow the reader to more effectively comprehend the subject matter.

-The divisions towards the end of the article need some tweaking. It seems repetitive to put the heading of “advantages”, and then under that put “advantages of ultrasound guidance” and same thing with disadvantage section. Possibly, change the lower headings to simply “ultrasound guidance”

-Linking the articles in the reference section would also be helpful

-It would be nice to see a couple more references used. Look more into the references/citations of the articles you referenced.

Overall, a very good article and very educational. Sanjayrau (talk) 03:17, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As Katie mentioned, we could not find any pictures except the one we included at the top. We fixed the punctuation and grammatical errors. Gracek917 (talk) 02:41, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that this article is good and very informative. I think it would be good to have a picture or graph of something showing how micrography is done or how the data is recorded. It may also be good to compare microneurography to other methods of measuring neural activity. Overall it was a good explanation of microneurography. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.167.196.17 (talk) 04:45, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
