T.denitrificans sulfide reduction

In the article T.denitrificans is listed as a specimen which is able to oxidise sulphide aerobically. The reference used is dated 1970. It seems this is not correct. T.denitrificans uses two different pathways, one for aerobic use and an other in anaerobic mode, RuBisCo I and II. T. denitrificans grows aerobically on thiosulfate, tetrathionate and thiocyanate; it also grows anaerobically on thiosulfate, tetrathionate, thiocyanate, sulfide or elemental sulfur.[1] T.denitrificans is used for removing sulfide producing sulphate or elemental sulphur depending of the nitrate availability. This is a normal process in a nitrifying biofilm. [2] T.denitrificans is used to oxidise elemental sulfhur to sulphate for removing nitrate in BADES (Biological Autotropic Denitrificaton on Elemental Sulphur) systems.[3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Demille001 (talkcontribs) 08:32, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
