revert

[edit]
(Moved from personal e-mail.)

Hi, please explain what is the point of the revert in the diasambigation page for memory. You are probably aware of my views as stated on the talk page (Personal vs impersonal) for Memory. The author of the article reverted the general definition I proposed and insists that only his cognitive- neuroscientific pov is right. I proposed either to have the entry qualified e.g. Memory (psychology) or to direct the query straight to the disambiguation page. Introducing the words 'in psychology' at the beginning is a palliative I agree with. But I do not see the point to omit them in the disambiguation page where one might hope to see a general definition encompassing hysteresis, computers, collective memory etc.( well I proposed one, didn't I). What's more the first line 'In psychology the ability of an organism. .'does not sound very good as few organisms have a psyche.

regards. al

I actually explained my reasons in the edit summary, and they had nothing to do with any debate going on over Memory, as that's not an article I watch. I therefore don't understand most of your comment; you're referring to things that weren't relevant to my reversion of your edit. As I explained in my edit summary, the reason I reverted your edit is quite simply that WP:MOSDAB forbids linking to Psychology in this sort of situation. Ruakh 19:34, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
