As I noted in the edit summary, VanEman seems to have an agenda to add details of any critical remarks MKs have made of Reform Judaism to their articles. In this particular case, the part about his Reform Judaism controversy accounted for a third of the text in the section on his career, which is massively undue given that he has served as an MK for nearly 20 years. A brief mention might be ok, but a large section of text is not NPOV. Number5712:40, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
By presenting a Reform and Conservative Jewish perspective, I am simply balancing some articles that are unbalanced. In the case of reprimands from a national government body, let me point out the following:
Please look at the wikipedia article: Joe Wilson (U.S. politician), a U.S. politician who was similarly reprimanded for an outburst on the floor. The "outburst" merited 8, count them---eight! ---paragraphs of coverage in the article.
If you find anyone listed there who does not have the reason for reprimand or censure included in their actual bio, please let me know and I will make sure that it gets added.
I should also add that the Porush attack on Reform and Conservative Jews is not simply an isolated incident, but rather part of a larger and on-going effort, for reasons I just don't understand, to disparage non-Orthodox streams. Sad and frustrating but notable. VanEman (talk) 18:06, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Another article being unbalanced does not justify this one being so. I also fail to see how this article is "unbalanced" without this controversy being mentioned. Number5718:24, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No Wiki article is perfectly balanced at any one moment. We strive for that. If you want this to be balanced, then do some research about this guys no doubt stellar record as a legislator and write a few well-referenced paragraphs about his brilliant contributions to civilization. If you care, then research and write. otherwise, move on. What I wrote is true, well referenced and in keeping with other Wiki articles.VanEman (talk) 16:20, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If you wish to make additions to the article, the onus is on you to do it in an acceptable manner. As I suggested, perhaps some massively cut down mention of this is warranted, but not something that accounts for a third of his career section. Why don't you suggest a sentence or two that would cover this. In the meantime, please respect WP:BRD and stop reverting. Number5716:24, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Number 57 You are fully right. So many people are saying same thing to this user across many articles. The only problem is that it's not only this article that the above user has turned into an unbalanced - there are so many other articles. Your fixing of this article alone - while it is definitely a good step - but it does not solve the underlying problem which is continuing as we speak. Caseeart (talk) 08:59, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
