Requested move
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: move the page to Yamato (wrestler), per the discussion below; hatnotes are already in place. Dekimasuよ! 21:51, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
Masato Onodera → YAMATO (wrestler) – YAMATO (wrestler) already redirects to this article. Although Masato Onodera is his real name, he only wrestled only 5 matches under that name. He changed his name to Yamato Onodera, wrestled 81 matches and won zero championships. He then changed his name to YAMATO, and wrestled 1201 matches, winning Dragon Gate's top singles (3x, joint most reigns), doubles (5x, joint most reigns) and trios (4x) championships. He has also won the top singles championship in Dragon Gate USA. Having his name capitalized (as it is presented) also helps him disambiguate from other wrestlers named Yamato. starship.paint ~ regal 13:30, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose MOS:CAPS/MOS:TM, this is not an acronym. Yamato (wrestler) would fix that. This is a pro wrestler, so suggest Yamato (pro wrestler) instead. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 20:05, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- On second thought, "Yamato (wrestler)" and "YAMATO (wrestler)" should redirect to Yamato where four wrestlers are listed, 3 of them pro wrestlers. So this would be Yamato (Dragon Gate wrestler) -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 04:59, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
- Support move to Yamato (wrestler) per MOS:CAPS and MOS:TM. (wrestler) is the appropriate disambigulator, a longtime consensus which was reaffirmed recently at Talk:Bayley (wrestler)#Requested moves.LM2000 (talk) 21:24, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose MOS:CAPS/MOS:TM, but Support Yamato (wrestler) In ictu oculi (talk) 01:23, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
- LM2000 and In ictu oculi, perhaps I should have explicitly mentioned, but there is a fellow Japanese wrestler called Hiroshi Yamato, who probably has less success. Thought the caps can distinguish. Otherwise I'm not too opposed to a non-caps title anyway. starship.paint ~ regal 02:35, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yamato (wrestler) currently redirects here... perhaps they should both be pointed to the disambiguation page instead then. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 03:14, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
- That probably redirects here for a good reason. I'd prefer that this article still be moved to Yamato (wrestler) and a WP:HAT be placed for those that are seeking Masato Onodera.LM2000 (talk) 19:16, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

- Comment, it might be worth waiting for the result of RM Talk:Blading (professional wrestling)#Requested moves before agreeing to a title. Gregkaye ✍♪ 09:19, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
