Focus on her
[edit]The article on Mary somewhat reads as if she's only a side character in her own article rather than the main character. For example, she's constantly referred to by her given name (which goes against WP:LASTNAME), while her husband is referred to by his last name. As this is the article on Mary, shouldn't the last name be used to refer to her instead of her husband?
The impression is enforced by sentences like: "In 1902, Bryan, his wife and his three children moved into Fairview." This article is about Mary, but for some reason her husband is listed first and she is only referred to as "his wife". Why is she "his wife" in an article about herself? Shouldn't it be "Mary and her husband" instead? And why did they move with "his children", but not "her children", or rather "their children"? Is it because the children are indeed only his children, but not hers? This sounds rather unusual for the time and her husband's religiousness, and there's also no mention of her being his second wife, so I'm assuming it's "their" children and I fixed the sentence accordingly (please undo my edit if I guessed wrong).
These subtle choices in wording run through the article and make it sound as if this is an article on Mary's husband rather than Mary herself. The article should try to put the focus more on her instead of treating her like a side character in her own story/life. Nakonana (talk) 00:28, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
