[edit]it's true that Isaac Perlmutter (and not Ronald Perelman) has sold Marvel Production catalog to Saban ? Checking Saban production (X-Men of 1992) seems much logical that he was Ronald Perelman to sell.. and Marvel Production still continue to exist (for a bit) only as distributor... --88.149.169.237 16:44, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- replying to myself... different sources had different details.. and anyway history of marvel (animation and not) in the end of '80 and mid'90 seems really complex... so i dont'know :)
This article shouldn't be in Category:Transformers because the company is not limited to Transformers. JIP | Talk 09:29, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Marvelproductions.jpg
[edit]Image:Marvelproductions.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Marvel Productions/New World Animation continuation
[edit]Did New World Animation become Marvel Films Animation?? King Shadeed March 12, 2018 17:46 EDT
- @Spshu:, you don't mind elaborating on this topic? you seem to be more knowledgeable with the technicalities of this particular entity? Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 21:57, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- I'm talking to y-o-u. Not Spshu. King Shadeed March 12, 2018 18:31 EDT
- I've read this source, this source, and and this source and you were wrong. Marvel Films Animation and New World Animation are two separate entities. Neither one didn't say that Marvel Films Animation is the successor of New World Animation or Marvel Productions. Learn about company re-brandings, reorganizations, and renaming properly and do your company histories right. King Shadeed March 12, 2018 20:57 EDT
- Plus, in the article said, "In 1994, Marvel and New World started up Marvel Films including Marvel Films Animation." New World Animation co-existed with Marvel Films Animation. So once again, you were wrong. King Shadeed March 12, 2018 20:59 EDT
- That is the point that Marvel Films Animations and Marvel Productions/New World Animation are two different organization. Glad you are captain obvious, King Shadeed, that is the point if Marvel Films Animation and New World Animation were the same entity then they would not be successor. You are miss understanding how successor is being used here.
- New World Animation per its Delaware Corporation records (File Number: 889706) was incorporated on 3/31/1980 - about the time Marvel Productions was formed from the assets of DFE
- Marvel Productions was kept by New World when Marvel Entertainment Group was sold to Andrews Group (later New World itself was purchased by Andrews Group.
- Variety article indicating that the Marvel Productions banner would see limited uses ("New World will continue to use the Marvel Prods. label–previously used on all its animated shows–on programs already in production,...") with "New World Family Filmworks and New World Action Animation" for all , although they only use New World Animation.
- Thus Marvel Films Animation was Marvel Productions successor as Marvel's (MEG/ME) internal animation unit. New World Animation cannot be Marvel Productions' successor as it is Marvel Productions renamed. Spshu (talk) 13:31, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

King Shadeed, don't be condescending like that. I called in Spshu because It'd be easier for the both of us to have someone who has a better understanding of the company as oppose to me making vague generalisations. If you continue to respond to me in a demeaning manner then I will report your behaviour. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 20:45, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Spshu: and :@Iftekharahmed96:? what is this? Quoting what it says: "New World said the Andrews Group, a Los Angeles-based concern operated by Ronald O. Perelman, chairman of Revlon, planned to take control of Marvel Comics in January. New World, which is based in Los Angeles, said it would retain its Marvel Productions unit, which produces television programs for children." And this? Quoting from this: "In 1993, Marvel—which Ron Perelman’s Andrews Group had taken public and begun expanding rapidly—assumed a 46 percent ownership stake in Isaac Perlmutter’s Toy Biz; in exchange; Toy Biz would get an exclusive, royalty-free perpetual license to manufacture toys based on Marvel characters. A Harley-riding, Israel-born Toy Biz designer named Avi Arad was brought in to guide a restructured and renamed Marvel Films, taking the reins from Stan Lee. (Lee’s autobiography diplomatically states that Arad “seemed to desire less and less” input from the former king of Marvel.) By year’s end, Arad had signed a deal with 20th Century Fox to do an X-Men movie." And Spshu? That article you found is from 1992. So what about 1993? Off-and-on, it took me two weeks to do some deep research about this. If you two can find some news details indicating that Marvel Productions was renamed as Marvel Films Animation, then I'll leave this alone. If not, then I'm going to re-revert that. King Shadeed March 25, 2018 16:27 EDT
- @King Shadeed: Dude, nobody's claiming that Marvel Productions/New World Animation was renamed as Marvel Films Animation, a successor company is a new company that takes over the corporate identity of a dissolved company. Marvel Enterprises (now Marvel Entertainment) is the successor company of Marvel Entertainment Group. Marvel Entertainment Group as a legal entity is unaffiliated with Marvel Enterprises (now Marvel Entertainment) because they're both separate companies. You're failing to understand the definition of a successor company. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 10:14, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- All that "research" you did Shadeed was already in the articles. Marvel Films Animation was a division of Marvel Films. Renaming is NOT sufficient for a new company as there is a "former names" field in the infobox. Iftekharahmed96 is most right as Marvel Entertainment Group is no longer the business entity that the Marvel Comics business is transacted under. Althought last I check Marvel Entertainment Group still exists solely a IP holding company called, Marvel Property, Inc. Marvel Enterprise did not become the predeccessor of Marvel Entertainment as Marvel Entertainment is Marvel Enterprise. I sure you surprise the bride at wedding (since they usually change their last name their spouse's) that you approach them as a whole new person. Spshu (talk) 13:19, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
- "But were they under New World?" is what I'm asking. Was Marvel Films part of the News Corp. acquisition in 1997? And when it comes to successors, it comes to a company that was renamed or a company that was reorganized. King Shadeed March 26, 2018 11:01 EDT

[edit]DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and Marvel Productions were technically the same company. So, should I redirect the entire Wiki page of DFE Films to Marvel Productions? 6 A 23 KAUSTAV CHAKI (talk) 15:39, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
