[edit]John Gribbin (Science, A history) says that the marriage of Mme Lavoisier and Count Rumford was held up for 4 years because Rumford needed to get documentation that his first wife (in the US) had died. The two lived together for 4 years before marriage, but then broke up soon after marriage. Pollira 19:40, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
So was she born noble or not?
