Confusing
[edit]It says produced 2011-present in the right hand side. And then the article implies production ceased in 2013. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.178.27.147 (talk) 23:26, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
The following two sentences seem rather contradictory: "Because it is handicap accessible, the MV-1 will continue to be approved for taxi use even after the new Nissan NV200 has replaced all other yellow cabs. The MV-1 is the first purpose-built taxicab to be allowed to enter service as a yellow cab since the iconic Checker Marathon." Shouldn't the Nissan be a yellow cab, too? It is replacing the old CMs but not allowed to enter public service? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 18:05, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- The MV-1 was approved for use first: the NV200 won't even enter service until late 2013, and no contract has even been signed yet as handicapped folks are currently suing the city. So no, not contradictory. ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃ (talk) 00:42, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
- However, it seems that the statement that it will continue to be accepted as a replacement after the NV200's introduction may actually be untrue: [1].
So in response over recent years, the Taxi and Limousine Commission had been approving alternatives to the Crown Victoria, such as Fusion and Escape (including hybrid versions); Toyota Camry and Prius; and such diesels as in Mercedes-Benz M-Class and E-Class; Volkswagen Jetta, Golf, and Touareg; and Audi Q7. Others on the approved list were Toyota Highlander and a wheelchair-accessible Sienna, Nissan Altima, Lincoln MKZ, Hyundai Sonata, and the MV-1, a wheelchair-accessible model designed by Vehicle Production Group and assembled by AM General. However, once the NV200 taxi becomes available, the approved list drops to just that one.
- I originally introduced the statement because I read it somewhere (VPG's own site, maybe) but I lost the quote before I could reference it. It still might become true, but here's another reference stating that the MV-1 (and all other non-NV200s) will be obsolete by 2018. That ought to be fixed. ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃ (talk) 00:58, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Still in production
[edit]The intro says "The Vehicle Production Group was an automobile manufacturer" but the infobox says "Production 2011-Present". Which is it? --Cornellier (talk) 02:28, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
