Image copyright problem with File:MGM Grand logo.png
[edit]The image File:MGM Grand logo.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Both articles look to me as the same, I would recommend to unite both articles. Tt100 talk 10:38, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved to MGM Macau. The media seem to be picking up the new name, e.g. Reuters, Toronto Star and Macau Daily Times, so I do the WP:IAR on the WP:CRYSTAL. Favonian (talk) 12:55, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
MGM Grand Macau → MGM Macau – The property's name was apparently changed. I couldn't find any info about the rename, but the company website and annual report refer to MGM Macau, as do recent news articles. There was a near-duplicate of this article at MGM Macau that was forked back in 2010. I've merged what little info was in that article and not this one. relisted--Mike Cline (talk) 13:11, 11 March 2012 (UTC) Toohool (talk) 05:40, 29 February 2012 (UTC) Comment – there's no need to move an article just because of an "official" name change (WP:OFFICIALNAME), so it's a matter of whatever name is used in reliable sources, per WP:COMMONNAME. ENeville (talk) 18:49, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- As I mentioned above, recent news articles have generally used the new name. Toohool (talk) 20:17, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- Relisting comment A bit more research on the common name would be useful as MGM Grand is still being used by both the media and MGM Resorts --Mike Cline (talk) 13:11, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- The MGM Resorts page you link to is a corporate jobs site, which hardly weighs up against the hotel's web site, the Chinese parent company's site, and the American parent company's site, not to mention their annual reports, all of which use "MGM Macau". The signage on the building was changed from "MGM Grand" to just "MGM" (see [1]). Third-party sources are more of a mixed bag, but "MGM Macau" has the edge, looking only at stories from the last year or so (since the name change was completed). Of the Macau-based English-language sources that I found, all were using "MGM Macau": [2] [3] [4] [5]. Western media sources also have plenty of examples of "MGM Macau", e.g. [6] [7] [8] [9]. There are some that use "MGM Grand Macau", but not as many. All in all, it doesn't take a crystal ball to predict that when a business changes its name, reliable sources will follow.
