Māori Council → New Zealand Māori Council – I think the appropriate name of this article should be New Zealand Māori Council. I've never seen the organisation referred to as the 'Maori Council', and hence the new name would better reflect the common name. Ballofstring (talk) 10:14, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support. It's always the "New Zealand Māori Council" in any references I have ever heard/seen. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:16, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support per http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1962/0133/latest/DLM341120.html which is the authoritative version of their name. Stuartyeates (talk) 22:29, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Structure, formation and powers
[edit]Is this an elected body?
Are representatives nominated by anyone?
What rules govern the body?
Does it have powers of veto over anything?
What levels of government does it interact with?
Do companies have to interact with it?
Can it interact with the judicial authorities to define Māori laws, customs and practises?
Is it granted powers that a Māori individual doesn't have in the court of law, in terms of being Māori? - 58.179.183.147 (talk) 23:46, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
