Decline PROD: "This is essentially a description of a visual effect with no evidence of any sort of art movement surrounding this. This article is unsourced and contains original research". A Gsearch returned plenty of hits, picked three from the first 10 and added to article. Definitely not OR, old stuff, there is/was a movement around this. - Actually, the google search (which I did myself before prodding), reveals use of the words "lumino kinetic art" but in very different usages than what this article is actually about. There is such a thing as "kinetic art" as a movement (well, a medium or practice to be precise), but no evidence of an art movement, practice or medium under this name, which remains in my view, OR. And just a side note: you write "decline prod" which is not quite accurate. You disagreed with my proposed deletion and removed the tag, as is your right, but you didn't "decline" anything, as this implies some sort of privileged action. As you're not an admin., you can't really "decline" something like this. We're both just regular editors. Sorry for getting into semantics, but I felt it needed to be said. Cheers. freshacconci talktalk 20:14, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- I also performed a search, and the majority of the hits belong to someone named Mark "Allyn," and therefore are likely associated with the original author of the article, therefore COI is brought into question. Also, from reading what little there is, it seems to be a term that emerged in the 60s during a time when media arts were expanding. However, as a term within popular usage, it doesn't exist. It seems to be historically-specific. Contemporary new media art texts do not use this term. What's salvagable here should be rolled into articles on kinetic art, new media art, light-based art, etc. Deadchildstar (talk) 18:40, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- On further search, the images here show the original authors craft-jewelry that he's trying to sell on his own website that is meta-tagged with lumino kinetic art. This page is pure advertising, and manipulation of what was briefly a term used in the 60s to describe a form of new media art. Yikes!! Deadchildstar (talk) 03:15, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
