Requested move
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: with thanks to Andrewa for the additional research, and also suspecting that these things must be done case by case, no consensus to move the page at this time, given the lack of evidence/reasoning presented here even after relisting. Please propose again if relevant sources can be found that indicate an error. Dekimasuよ! 00:38, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
Luchi Cruz-Valdez → Luchi Cruz-Valdes – Wrong spelling. Replace "Z" to "S" in Valdes word names. This is currently important to move them. --Relisted. Andrewa (talk) 13:48, 19 October 2014 (UTC) 203.111.224.82 (talk) 12:14, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]Relisting comment: This appears to be part of a wide-ranging proposal which needs wider discussion, and some tidying up.
I note the lead of the DAB at Valdez currently [1] reads in part Valdés is a surname of Asturian (Northern Spain) origin. Both in North and South America the spelling Valdez is very common. (emphasis as found there) I've posted a heads-up at Talk:Valdez#Spelling.
That's not a lot of help as she's from the Philippines (and the article also says she's Filipino), but more important the DAB is not consistent either. The only reference the article currently gives spells her name Valdez. [2]
Valdés currently [3] redirects to Valdez and may have the wrong R template on it.
Comments? Evidence? Guidelines? Suspect that it's a matter of case by case. In any case there is as yet no valid rationale for this proposed move. Andrewa (talk) 14:33, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
