Image?
[edit]I looked at his website and there are copyright free press images that are better than the small, grainy band image. I really don't know how to update images on Wikipedia but as a female fan, I would like to suggest this one to be used http://www.lloydcole.com/image/presskit/bandw/lc_miafl_08.html

Playing with his son
[edit]I see that an edit I made concerning at least one gig in 2016 in which he played with his son has been deleted as "not notable". I disagree. I think fans will be interested to learn that he has played with his son, who is also a musician. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PDA UK (talk • contribs) 17:46, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Tidying up
[edit]This article in places reads as if written by the Lloyd Cole PR company, containing numerous ephemera, which i'm not sure is useful in a biography of a living person. It needs tidying up (and probably slimming down) with proper citation added.
- Totally agree. I have added a few sources for some of the statements, and hope to add a few more. Also, the entire paragraph which sums up random songs Cole has ever covered and that completely lacks citations, is of very little value. I have removed it completely (and only kept the mention of covers of Cole's songs by others). Should anyone wish to sum up all the songs Cole himself has covered I'd suggest adding it to his Discography instead. With citation, of course.--MichielN (talk) 21:41, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
"He made a flash site"
[edit]A casual remark on a Radio 4 programme about making a flash site repeatedly pops up under personal life. Perhaps this is considered to be noteworthy on Wiki, but it seems a little too trivial to keep, especially as he seemed to make a single unknown web site. — MouldyFox (talk) 07:40, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
- Is that why the intro paragraph defined him as a "self-taught Macromedia Flash developer"? I think whoever edited that in overestimates how impressive it is to learn to do a bit of coding... are we going to list all of his hobbies? Gaiacarra (talk) 19:47, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
- Exactly. It's about as noteworthy as "he got a little addicted to Eastenders for about a week." Unless someone is going to painstakingly listen to every interview Cole has ever given (with an emphasis on the pain) and add every single passing remark to a torturous list of interests, then adding crumbs like this is utterly pointless. — MouldyFox (talk) 10:12, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- It's because the Radio 4 programme in which he mentioned he made a flash site was a review of Limmy's autobiography "Surprisingly Down to Earth and Very Funny", which several of Limmy's fans felt was harsh and unfair to him. 2601:445:4480:C010:2C32:CD2E:A316:7321 (talk) 00:05, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm aware of how it came to be known (I saw the video of Limmy reviewing his own review and wondered who the hell Lloyd Cole is), but that doesn't make it any more significant. — MouldyFox (talk) 18:28, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

- It feels as though the personal life section is being repeatedly censored. Accurate and cited information is added by community participants, only to have any contributions repeatedly removed.
- It's one thing to rollback an edit that isn't cited, or doesn't relate to the topic—it's quite another to repeatedly remove others' accurate, astute and articulate additions.
- I request of my Wikipedia colleagues, to keep an open mind when it comes to others' contributions. There is room on Wikipedia for diversity. There is room for other perspectives. If we all can take this on board, the result will only help to expand upon the knowledge that's available here.
