... because of the enormity of the lists

[edit]

1. "The enormity of ... " is a phrase with the following uses:

  • Introducing statements about the moral status of bad actions
  • My personal guess is, perhaps also about the degree to which events should be viewed as unfortunate -- tho i'd use it only as a joke with the right audience, since i've never heard it used that way and i suspect it might sound ignorant to speakers even more careful than i

2. The issue of the term's precise scope aside, editorial decisions get explained or justified on talk pages (like this one), and occasionally in comments that can only be read after clicking on "edit". If you doubt the presentation is ideal, edit the article in hopes of improving it, but discuss whether you or colleagues have succeeded in that only where users don't have to be distracted by our editorial consultations or disputes.

I have added the state entries but currently they link to the respective articles on "Capital Punishment in ___". I'll revisit in a couple weeks and see what I can construct of lists for eachm if no one else takes it up in the interim Irish Melkite (talk) 03:03, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
