Merger
[edit]Since this article (non-metropolitan counties of England by Population) contains area and density info, I have move it to List of non-metropolitan counties of England as this a more appropriate name. I have further proposed that [List of non-metropolitan counties of England by area]] is merged into this article as the two are duplicates of each other and IMHO the information is probably more useful in a single article rather than numerous articles. - Seconded, for reasons given above. Totnesmartin (talk) 12:02, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

The List isnt true to it's name
[edit]It doesnt include unitary authorities and these arent metropolitan counties so this isnt a list of non-metropolitan counties this whole article is a lie. 152.78.235.23 (talk) 10:14, 11 May 2012 (UTC) I have edited this article so it is now no longer a lie. 152.78.235.23 (talk) 10:26, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
Devon area incorrect?
[edit]Listed as 6,564km² here, but is 6,707 km² on Devon. Apologies for any misunderstanding if I'm wrong here - perhaps it is counted differently on different pages? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.8.82 (talk) 18:07, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
Dorset population is wrong
[edit]12 million? A factor of ten out - I guess - is that good enough for Wiki?

Should the table be sorted by name?
[edit]I've removed the "rank" column and added an unchanging "static row number" one to give an easy way to compare counties by any of the columns. It's not in population order by default (I suppose because of population growth in southeast England), but I haven't touched that.
As this is the only list of two-tier counties in England, would it make more sense for the default sort to be by name? A decent number of visitors go on to one of the county articles, so this might help them find the one they want slightly more quickly. And the order wouldn't change over time.
