WP:Common for redirects

Hi. I started linking these to already-existing redirects , but was disappointed to find that bots were changing them to avoid double-redirects; so I've stopped for the moment. IMHO, the pages these link to should, whenever possible, subscribe to WP:Commmon I think the problem is that the wikilinks for a lot of these names use the middle name by default, even if there isn't a person currently occupying the redirect for "Firstname Familyname" or "Nickname Familyname." I propose to start changing redirects here, starting with family names starting with letter C and returning to family names starting with letter A eventually. If anyone wants to help, a bunch of existing redirects can be found at Category:Individuals honored at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani. - Chieharumachi (talk) 09:26, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: I've done this for individuals with existing redirects with family names starting with letters C, A, B, and D, but am now convinced we should just go with WP:Common for all the names. (If folks want to help, in many cases, the two volumes of "Ang Mamatay ng Dahil Sayo" published by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and then the website of the Bantayog ng mga Bayani are likely the most reliable sources.) Hello. I agree with your proposal. If you can, please tag the name redirects with {{R with possibilities}}, {{R to related topic}}, and/or {{R to section}}. Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Applying WP:Common has made the page much bluer now, and also sets the stage for the amount of work that still needs to get done.
