Diseases
[edit]There's nothing to stop someone from putting animal or plant diseases on this list... (Separate section please.) Valerius Tygart (talk) 18:18, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
- I give you the right to add it yourself, you marginally lazy beggar (free one for animals: rinderpest, which is flat-out eradicated). 180.200.140.188 (talk) 11:22, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
- Same back at ya, ya barely tolerable coprocephalic. (Knew about rinderpest aleady... So don't congratulate y'self too much...) Valerius Tygart (talk) 18:53, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Moreover, the suggestion is not helpful. Rinderpest was NOT eliminated from the US, bright guy, since it has never been seen in North America. 143.85.18.26 (talk) 20:55, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
Eradicated versus eliminated
[edit]Technically they are eliminated, not eradicated per [1] Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:47, 6 February 2015 (UTC)
- Fair 'nuff. Change made. (Tho' the heroes of the National Malaria Eradication Program & the Rockefeller Sanitary Commission for the Eradication of Hookworm Disease would disagree...) Valerius Tygart (talk) 16:55, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

Suggest deleting babeoisis from list
[edit]Babeosis is listed as eliminated from the US, but there is no citiation. Moreover, the Wikipedia page for the disease says that it occurs seasonally in the Northeast. See Babesiosis#Epidemiology.
It's possible that the initial author of this section meant specifically the type of babeosis carried by Babesia bovis. But according to the same link as above, this is a cattle disease; the other diseases on this list occur in humans.
If someone is able to clarify the sourcing, that would be great. If not, I will delete this entry in a week. Thanks!` Mgllama (talk) 20:41, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- With no objection or other reply to this suggestion, I deleted the listing for babeosis today. Mgllama (talk) 20:39, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
