Justin Timberlake

Can u send me the file for Justin Timberlake? Truly appreciate it. Moh8213 (talk) 18:41, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Here it is.--Harout72 (talk) 20:44, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

I've checked it and here's what I found;

  • Canada: According to the Music Canada database, the song Sexyback is certified 3× Platinum (120,000) in January, 2007 (listed in ur file as 2× Platinum (80,000)) and the the song's ringtone is certified 6× Platinum (240,000) in July, 2007 (listed in ur file as 3× Platinum (120,000). The song Can't Stop The Feeling! is certified Diamond (800,000) in 2020 (listed in ur file as 6× Platinum (480,000)).

Also ik this isn't related to Timberlake but Kanye West's song Homecoming is also Gold (7,500) I'm certain there might be few other artists too who has their records certified in that archive site.

  • Sweden: The album Justified certified Gold (30,000) in 2003, The song Can't Stop The Feeling! is certified 8× Platinum (320,000) (it isn't included in ur file)
  • New Zealand: The song Dead and Gone is certified Platinum (15,000) in 2010. The song My Love certified Platinum (10,000) in 2007 (Isn't included in ur file). Also despite the song Ayo Technology certified as Gold (7,500) in 2007, it was certified as "Gold" again in 2009, assume this might be a typo by the database and it was certified as Platinum (15,000).
  • Japan: The song 4 Minutes is certified Gold (100,000) in June, 2015
  • Mexico: the song 4 Minutes certified 2× Gold (20,000) as ringetone.
  • Spain: the song 4 Minutes is certified 2× Platinum (50,000) in the 30th week of 2008.

Other than that so far I didn't find anything missing or uncorrected. Moh8213 (talk) 19:27, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

  • Denmark: There is no certification for "What Goes Around... Comes Around", it's for the streaming format, those are not included. I see Platinum though for "Give It to Me".
  • Spain: "4Minutes" is actually certified 3x Platinum for Digital format (posted in week 34 of 2008), and there is also 2x Platinum for Original Tone format (posted in week 46 of 2008). I had all of the certifications of "4 Minutes" on Madonna's file but some were missing on Justin Timberlake's file.
  • New Zealand" I'm only going to include the Gold for "Ayo Technology", I'm not sure what to make of the Gold being posted twice. Anyways, here is the updated version of the file. Good job.--Harout72 (talk) 20:47, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Oops, I forgot to add the archived database for Denmark, here it is, check it out and tell me what you think about it. Also, ik this won't make it to the list but the album The 20/20 Experience is certified Gold (7,500) in Ireland, this will bring the total to 97,500 units, how sad. Moh8213 (talk) 21:15, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

We have that archived version of Denmark's site, it's the reference No. 67 on the list. Lots of certifications are being supported by that on the list.--Harout72 (talk) 21:24, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Oh, I just discovered that Justin Timberlake did sale a 100,000+ units in a country, which is Brazil, the total is 105,000 units which includes:

Bob dylan claimed sales

This page states that Bob Dylan has 100 million claimed record sales where as Bob Dylans specific page states that he has 125 million as noted in this NPR article https://www.npr.org/2020/12/07/943818966/bob-dylan-sells-songwriting-catalog-in-nine-figure-deal 73.151.127.219 (talk) 04:48, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

The list uses a reliable source from 2016 that claims 100 million records in sales for Dylan, based on the number of certified units he's collected from 2016 up to now, suggests that he could have sold only 500,000 to 1 million units maximum. Clearly the 125 million is just another promotional sales figure as we frequently see for others also.--Harout72 (talk) 12:21, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

Alicia Keys

Harout. I will raise Key's sales claim to 90m. Since her certified sales pass 75m when she's not a streaming artist, I think 90m claim is the best claim for her. Here is the source https://www.kget.com/community/ricks-reviews/big-sky-uses-twin-ploy-alicia-keys-has-her-life-exposed/ from KGET-TV. Is it okay?. Thanks Politsi (talk) 06:22, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Yes I think we can raise her claimed figure. Most of her digital certifications from RIAA should be based on downloads, not streaming.--Harout72 (talk) 12:48, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

It's good that Politsi brought up Alicia Keys cuz it seems she needs few corrections on her certifications. According to my calculations her total certified Dutch sales are 450,000 units, it will be helpful if you could send me her file. Moh8213 (talk) 16:04, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Here it is. I just re-checked it, the total should be 460,000. Let me know if you see any else that needs a correction.--Harout72 (talk) 16:24, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Aight here's what I've found so far...

Australia singles:

Canada singles:

Germany singles:

  • Empire State of Mind: Platinum (300,000)

Poland albums:

(that will raise her total to 100,000) Moh8213 (talk) 22:30, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Hey Harout, hope you doing well. Don't you think that Alicia Keys' now eligible to join the 100m club? The claimed sales would be supported by 76% of her certified sales, I also think RHCP and Pink should join the club too since their certified sales is at 98% and 82% respectively. What's ur thought about it? Moh8213 (talk) 20:37, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

I would only support your suggestion for Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pink, but not Alicia Keys. Let's bare in mind that some 25-30% of Alicia Keys' and RHCP's recent RIAA certifications must be streaming generated. But since RHCP are really close to 100 million with their certified sales, it would be ok to move them into the 100 million section, but I'm not sure if there is such a claimed figure for them. Pink could be moved into the 100 million section, because only a few of her recent RIAA certifications are streaming generated. But again, I'm not sure if there is a 100 million claim out there for her.--Harout72 (talk) 21:46, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Harout, there is a claim figure of 110m for Pink. https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/music/news/pink-signs-deal-for-more-albums-30069134.html with 83m in her certified sales and only a few streaming generated, Pink deserved to get 110m claim. But, I'm not support Pink to move with 110m claim unless we also raise Bon Jovi's claim figure to 120m. Because it's unfair to see Bon Jovi with nearly 88m in certified sales still stuck at 100m claim figure, if we raise Pink's claim to 110m. What do you think?. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 14:54, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
110 million in sales seems a bit exaggerated for Pink, considering that her certified sales are 82.4 million. We can use that when she's over the 90 million mark with her certified sales. As for Bon Jovi, let's upgrade them to 120 million once they're also at the 90 million with their certified sales.--Harout72 (talk) 16:09, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

That's the problem, I've been searching articles for the last couple of months that could mention that she has sold 100 million records, but most of them are above that mark like this or this, tho I've just stumbled across this article and it mentions that she has sold 40 million albums and 65 million singles that would sum up the total to 105 million records, I think that's the most realistic claim that we could use for now. As for RHCP, I'll start searching the 100m claim for them. Regarding Alicia Keys, it'd be great to move her to the 100m club when she reaches at least 80m in certified sales. Moh8213 (talk) 18:42, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

We can use the 105 million for Pink once she's over 85 million with her certified sales. But that site seems to have a paywall (although pressing ESC immediately after the page is loaded helps you read the article). Do we have another reliable source claiming the 105 million for Pink?--Harout72 (talk) 21:06, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
To Moh8213 (talk) Thanks for finding the 105m claim of Pink, now Pink on the 100m club but we're not using your source since we need something more bigger and prestigious news organization on the list. So we are using my source for Pink's new 105m claim. Politsi (talk) 07:26, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 22 October 2021

AlexanderShakifan29

Based on sales from Japan's Oricon Charts, Shakira has 147,655 records sold in that country. If you give me permission, I will be able to add Shakira's reliable sales in Japan. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 03:07, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

Shakira doesn't have any Gold certifications in Japan. Those sales numbers you're seeing represent the sum of all she's sold, albums and singles combined. In other words, it's not a number representing one album or single.--Harout72 (talk) 03:53, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Harout. Several weeks ago, I raise their sales figure to 90m because of their excellent over 70m in certified sales. But now, their certified sales reach 98.5m. It's incredible! and they are from 1980s artists. I don't think their current certified sales come streaming generated. Because their success only from 1987 - mid 2000. We should raise their sales figure immediately. 100m claim is too low for them. I will raise their sales figure to 120m. Need your opinion. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 14:18, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Their recent certification on singles especially should be 50% streaming generated. 120 million is a bit high for them. Had they reached the current level with their certified sales years ago, before streaming started playing a major role, by all means, the 120 million for them would not be high at all. Their current actual sales can't be more than 75 million. So for the time being 100 million should do it for them. Once they're around 105 million with their certified sales, we can move forward with the 120 million.--Harout72 (talk) 14:54, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
Okay then, if the 120m claim figure is too much for them at this moment then I will adjust their claim figure only to 100m claim. When they had at least 105 million in their certified sales. I will raise their claim to 120m. Is it right? Thanks. Politsi (talk) 05:10, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

2Pac

Also ik this isn't Pink related but Pac's song Hail Mary just recently been certified Silver (200,000) in the UK. Moh8213 (talk) 18:25, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Normalize sales

I'm not sure how to go about this or even whether people think it makes sense, but shouldn't certified sales be normalized? The current ranking suggests Rihanna is more significant (or at least more popular) than Elvis and the Beatles, given the number of certified units. However as of 2020 the world's population is estimated at 7.7 billion, compared to 2.8 billion in 1957 and 3.8 billion in 1966, the peak years of Elvis and Beatles. Everything else being equal, it was far harder to sell 1 million units in 1960 than in 2020, and that doesn't even factor in music formats, the average price of a vinyl record compared to an mp3 file, or lack of data from certain markets for earlier acts (especially central and eastern Europe). 2001:BB6:78A5:C600:BDF3:14E:D281:D364 (talk) 17:07, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Coldplay 120 million records?

Hello Harout, Coldplay currently shown as 100M records sold. About last 4 years, Coldplay's claimed sales unchanged. Now Coldplay released 9th studio album. Now it's time to change their claimed sales into 120 million. Their certified sales already surpassed 100 million. And Coldplay's single "Yellow" has certified 3x platinum in UK. Esambuu (talk) 02:36, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Please find a reliable source to support their new 120m claim figure. Politsi (talk) 06:15, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Black Eyes Peas

They already had 66.8 million in their certified sales, it's time to move them up with 80m claim. It's only 5 million additional. They deserved to get it. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 05:46, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

All of Black Eyed Peas' recent certifications on singles are streaming generated, so there is no need to upgrade their sales figure until they pass the 70 million mark with their certified sales.--Harout72 (talk) 13:00, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Usher

Harout. I want to raise his claim figure to 80m claim, but so far this is the only source I have found. https://theindependentghana.com/2020/06/my-father-needs-to-explain-my-striking-resemblance-with-usher-raymond-peter-okoye-says/ I'm not sure this source is good to be used on the list. What do you think?. Thanks Politsi (talk) 05:51, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

That source seems reliable enough but I don't think Usher has over 10 million records all around the world that have gone uncertified. Most of his certified sales are US and UK based, so using that source would be ok when he's over the 70 million mark.--Harout72 (talk) 13:07, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Jay-Z

Jay-Z, please. Moh8213 (talk) 16:28, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Here it is.--Harout72 (talk) 17:42, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
  • Australia: The single Heartbreaker with Mariah Carey is certified Platinum (70,000) in 1999.
  • US: The single I'll Be with Foxy Brown is certified Gold (500,000) in 1997, the single Heartbreaker is certified Gold (Standard Format) in 1999 & Platinum (Digital Format) in 2019, the single's mastertone of Crazy in Love is certified Gold (500,000) in 2006, and the single Déjà Vu is certified Gold (500,000) in 2009.

  • Brazil: The album Collision Course with Linkin Park is certified Gold (50,000) in 2005, the single Umbrella with Rihanna is certified Platinum (60,000) in 2009. The total will be 110,000 units.
  • France: The single Heartbreaker is certified Gold (250,000) in 1999.
  • Germany: The single Umbrella is certified 2× Platinum (600,000) in 2018. (Listed in ur file as Plat.)
  • Italy: The single Crazy In Love is certified Platinum (50,000) in 2017. (Listed in ur file as Gold)
  • Spain: Spain's total sales isn't included on the list.

Here's the total of Jay-Z's sales in New Zealand.

  • Heartbreaker: Platinum (10,000)
  • Crazy In Love: Gold (5,000)
  • Collision Course: Platinum (15,000)
  • Umbrella: Platinum (10,000)
  • Run This Town: Gold (7,500)
  • Empire State Of Mind: Platinum (15,000)
  • Holy Grail: Gold (7,500)
  • Drunk In Love: Gold (7,500)

Total: 77,500 close but unfortunately not enough to add it on the list. I don't think I've missed anything tho I'll hit u up if I do. Moh8213 (talk) 13:01, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

I added them all, here is the updated version of the file. Thanks, good job.--Harout72 (talk) 16:51, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

You're welcome, now since his certified sales reached the same as claimed sales, I think it's safe to move his claimed sales to at least 135-140 million records. What do u think? Moh8213 (talk) 20:11, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Yup we can do that if there is such a claimed figure, I'll look around.--Harout72 (talk) 20:44, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Pink

Pink, please. Moh8213 (talk) 21:27, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Pink file.--Harout72 (talk) 22:16, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
I went through and updated her Canadian numbers. Can't personally update the wiki page directly anytime soon, so here's the data before it becomes out of date: [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Canadianerk (talkcontribs) 19:01, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
I couldn't open your file as it requires a newer version for word, mine is old. But I went over Pink's Canadian recent certs. Nearly all of the singles on the catalogue have been re-certified and certified and posted retroactively. Music Canada is famous for posting whole bunch of certifications retroactively. Here is the updated version of the file.--Harout72 (talk) 20:00, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
No worries about accessing mine, my numbers were under yours by ~300k - so I'll just leave this to you and those who know the various kinks of the databases. Best of luck updating the Canadian numbers, and thanks for diligently tracking the certified units for all these artists.Canadianerk (talk) 20:16, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

I assume there might few more missing certs but I'm just so busy so these are what I've found so far.

  • Austria: Refer to their certification levels. he album Beautiful Trauma" is only Gold in Austria for 7,500 units. If you mean The Truth About Love, then Platinum albums released before January 1, 2013, were 20,000 units.
  • Sweden:The album Beautiful Trauma" is Gold for 20,000 units. "The single "Raise Your Glass" is certified Gold only, I'm not sure where you see 2x Platinum. If you mean the single "What About Us", it's certified 2x Platinum, I had only Platinum for that, but it said Gold next to it (I'd forgotten to update that).
Here is the updated file--Harout72 (talk) 19:55, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Yep, I'm so tired that I've mixed albums and singles thresholds, lol. Anyways, my bad, I meant the single Cover Me in Sunshine's correct Plat. figure is 30,000 not 20,000. Moh8213 (talk) 20:37, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

No problem, I got it.--Harout72 (talk) 20:57, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
Harout, to be honest. I don't like to see Pink's position ahead from Coldplay, RHCP, Linkin Park, and Bon Jovi. If she want her 105m claim back to her, then she need more than 90m in her certified sales. I will lower her position with only 100m claim figure. I hope you're also agree. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 09:04, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

The song One Too Many with Keith Urban is certified Gold in the US. It isn't included in ur file. Moh8213 (talk) 18:35, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Politsi: tbh, I don't see the problem of Pink being ahead of some rock bands. She's a very accomplished singer after all, her sales are very impressive, especially when u consider the fact that she's in the 100m club with only 34 million certified sales from her home country (US), plus she has few other singles that are left uncertified. Such singles like So What and Fuckin' Perfect have sold 4.591 million and 3.010 million and still hasn't got a certification from the RIAA (also important to note that these figures are digital sales and aren't streaming based). Btw I'm saying this not because I'm a fan of her or something, I'm just trying to prove the fact that female artists can outsell other male artists. Moh8213 (talk) 19:03, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

To Moh8213 (talk) We can see several bands such as RHCP, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park, Coldplay. They have certified sales BETTER than Pink. So, it doesn't matter with "accomplished singer". It's about who has a better certified sales. Politsi (talk) 06:15, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

Bruce Springsteen

Harout, I want to raise Springsteen claim figure to 150m. I think this is something that we should do if we comparing him with Aerosmith. Both Spingsteen and Aerosmith, they begin their music chart at 1973. Springsteen now has 107m in certified sales and Aerosmith only at 87m but listed with 150m records. We also put Phill Collins with 150m claim, while he has only 95m in certified sales and his chart career begin since 1981. I think it's time to move up Springsteen with 150m claim. What do you think?. Thanks Politsi (talk) 06:27, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

The problem you're seeing isn't with Bruce Springsteen's claimed figure being low, the problem we have is Aerosmith's claimed figure being inflated the same is with Phil Collins' sales figure, it's also inflated. We can upgrade Bruce Springsteen's when he's close to 120 million with his certified sales. In the meantime, if there is a lower figure for Aerosmith's or Phil Collins being around 125 or 130 million, we should replace their current sales figures with those.--Harout72 (talk) 13:13, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

80 million claim

Good afternoon, since Shakira's last sales update in 2017 it was revealed that she had over 75 million copies sold. Since that year it has been receiving multiple new certifications in France, UK, USA, Brazil, Mexico and more for that reason I consider that the figure of 80 million is the most appropriate to its total sales. Shakira

around 11 new certifications were given to Shakira in Brazil on their website, her numbers are not updated here yet. Krups Music (talk) 08:16, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Ariana Grande

Harout, is it possible for her to be on the list now? is it possible for her to have 85m claim figure?. Today Screen Rant releasing a statement by saying she has sold 85m units (all of her music released) https://screenrant.com/wicked-movie-ariana-grande-glinda-casting-reaction/ that source is not a general news organization but it's a part of Valnet Inc., an online media company based in Montreal, Quebec. Therefore, I think we could use that source only for temporary until I found the better one. This is only reliable source I have found so far for her 85m claim. Need your opinion. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 08:08, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Yes, we can use that source temporarily to put her up on the list. She's already at 135 million with her certified sales. I'll work on it today.--Harout72 (talk) 13:30, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Now we wait Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Imagine Dragons, and Green Day to be included on the list. Politsi (talk) 06:28, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

A Question from Japanese Sales

I already knew Japan has two version of sales figure. One is physical and the other one is Digital. In past years, we put 15% in the former and the last 10% in the latter. However, in 2021, the table has changed. How did you calculate the Japanee criteria??? 168.131.172.64 (talk) 02:57, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Question

Thanks so much for your understanding. Also, just a random question, do you think Rihanna sold more records than Madonna? And if not, do you think she will ever surpass her? Moh8213 (talk) 07:34, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Rihanna's recent few years of certs are all streaming generated, so don't be deceived by her high certified sales. As it stands as of now, Rihanna's actual sales should be somewhere around 200-250 million (I'd say probably closer to 200 million than 250 million). Speaking in general, Rihanna's overall records sales shouldn't be that far from Madonna's. But Rihanna's actual sales are dominated by singles rather than albums, but at the end of the day, records sales are records sales. Will she ever outsell Madonna? It would be possible if her past success picks up, otherwise, I'm not seeing that. Madonna, on the other hand, should have lots of units in the US sold, the certification fees of which have not been submitted by her record company. Once the fees are paid, then we can see her US certified sales grow by good 10-20 million. As for her earlier records in many parts of the world, they've sold without being certified, as least we don't have access to checking that information.--Harout72 (talk) 14:31, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
I’m not going to be constructive in my response, but I must add my 2 cents here and say that there is far too much weight given to streams. I can see, and fully expect, that in the future, the weight of streams are adjusted… again. TruthGuardians (talk) 15:19, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Matching error between certifications and figures reached: Elvis Presley / Michael Jackson

Concerning the USA.

  • Michael Jackson has certified 89 million albums and 50.5 million singles, or 139.5 million units in all, not 150, 3 million.
  • Elvis Presley, it is not 199.65 million but a little more. It totals 139 million certified LPs, 14.5 million EPs and 51.5 million SPs or 205 million units in total. It is true that this can also be understood as 146.5 million certified album equivalents (i.e. 139 million LPs + 14.5 million EPs divided by two) and 50.5 million singles (which have two singles at 500,000 instead of a million due to the change of threshold over the years). Figures recognized by the RIAA and the Record World Records which makes him the most certified artist in the USA, combining all of these formats. He is therefore first in overall certified sales there as a solo artist and second in terms of certified albums after Garth Brooks.

Please update sales. Regards.--Elenora.C (talk) 18:05, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Large upcoming Michael Jackson Certifications

Just a heads up that over the next few months(hopefully), Jackson should gain approximately a couple dozen more million new album and single certifications from around the world from countries like Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, UK, and even the US among others. For that last few months his newest certifications were expected before they were made public. There was a recent error in "Rockin’ Robin’" single, which was counted lower than what it should have actually been certified, but that will be corrected soon. When everything is counted up, I expect to see Jackson at a minimum of 267 million certifications. These will not be anomalies, these will be expected.TruthGuardians (talk) 02:00, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Major anomaly on BPI site

Harout, Can you explain what kind of major anomalies you discovered on BPI's site with recently posted high-level albums. What other albums/artists is this applicable to, or is it only for Michael Jackson? Wasn't there another major anomaly when BPI-certified ABBA's "ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits" it's 20th-time platinum?.— TheWikiholic (talk) 15:12, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Yesterday BPI had 9 albums with high Platinum levels posted for November 26, today it's down to 6 albums. I was right when I detected the anomalies. The recently posted albums were posted with new certification dates with the same Platinum levels, including Simon & Garfunkel's, Bob Marley's, and one Beatles' album, all three are removed today. Also, I've never seen BPI certify albums by 2 or 5 Platinum levels higher. BPI always certifies Platinum by Platinum. Beatles' Abbey Road is posted with 8x Platinum from previous 3x Platinum. The same with Thriller from 13 to 15. I'll keep your recent edit for now. Michael's certs can be ok, but I wanted to wait a bit before they were corrected. Surely enough today 3 of those have already been removed. I'm going to wait a day or two before I update Fleetwood Mac's, Pink Floyd's, Queen's and Beatles' BPI certs. ABBA's certification is normal, there is nothing wrong with that. The anomalies I detected are with November 26 posts.--Harout72 (talk) 16:23, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
@TheWikiholic: Sorry for barging in, didn't you yourself say (or whoever that was) that BPI are working on including all previous sales all together in certifications? // Music Week has reported that by 2019 all consumed sales for Abbey Road stands at 2,327,120 units. That would be all together by now 2,4 million. So that 8x platinum award is not weird to me. Dhoffryn (talk) 19:51, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
It certainly wouldn't be weird if we'd seen BPI certify albums multiple Platinum levels up all at once, like RIAA does for example. BPI has always certified albums one Platinum at a time, unless of course they've begun operating differently now. Abbey Road's previous 3x Platinum was based on the sales counted from 1973 onward (when UK launched its cert system). The previous sales of that album between 1969 and 1973 have gone uncertified. Also it's worth noting that none of those albums with high Platinum levels posted on Nov. 26, appears along with the rest of the recent certs.--Harout72 (talk) 20:17, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Hi every one I have been putting up suggestions but never really getting any feedback, I understand if everyone is busy. Well I found on a wiki page about Andrea Bocelli's 25.6 million certified units and if more research thorough research is done other artistes, Spice girls, Gloria Estefan ,Reba Mcentire,Cardi B, Frank Sinatra, Post Malone,Green Day, Robbie Williams, Carrie underwood, and Imagine dragons you will get a more clearer total of their certified units complementing their sales claims in legit and verifiable websites and Carrie underwood sales Claims should be put up to 76-77. 41.190.14.96 (talk) 14:42, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

Beyonce's I Am... Sasha Fierce Album

Hey can we please up the sales of the "I Am.." album from 8 million to 10 million? I feel like that is a more appropriate estimate from the certifications. They album definitely sold more than her 2006 effort but them both saying 8 million is a little off since "I Am..." have more and higher certifications. I just want to ask you guys first! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miaxh (talkcontribs) 01:31, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Imagine Dragons (75m)

Harout, if 90m claim is too high for them at this moment, how about 75m? Here is the source, from an English online paper from Romania/The Romania Journal https://www.romaniajournal.ro/spare-time/new-imagine-dragons-european-tour-announced/ released today. Thanks Politsi (talk) 12:11, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

Yes, we can use that source, at least temporarily. I'll work on it today.--Harout72 (talk) 13:36, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, and I think if Post Malone already has 170m of certified sales, He can be on the list now. Politsi (talk) 10:28, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Post Malone has 170.6 million certified units by now. But since hes' begun charting in 2016, his certified sales should be more streaming generated than those that have begun in 2012 or 2013. So I'm going to put him up on the list when he's at 175 million certified units. Do we have any other source for Post Malone besides this which claims 100 million in records sales?. Do we have anything lower, 90 million maybe?--Harout72 (talk) 13:19, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Not yet, I still searching a lower claim figure for him. Unless if we could use this source for temporary https://1075koolfm.com/post-malone-weeknd-one-right-now/ KOOL-FM. Politsi (talk) 12:29, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

No that compilation album should not be counted towards his overall certified sales. He doesn't even provide vocals on lot of the tracks. And some tracks even have more than four artists involved.--Harout72 (talk) 20:49, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

If that's the case then it looks like you've included the sales of that album in Ireland, NZ, & Switzerland by mistake :) Moh8213 (talk) 21:12, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

I've checked it and here's what I've found so far:

Argentina: The album Encore is certified Gold (20,000) in 2005, that would bring his total Argentinean sales to 98,000. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an archived source for the Curtain Call's (20,000) Gold cert., but since the certification for that album was visible at some point, I don't think it'd be a problem to include his Argentinean sales of 118,000. Plus I don't think that it'd be visible ever again.

Belgium: The correct figure for the single Smack That is 25,000 as it was certified in 2007.

Brazil: The single Smack That is certified Platinum (60,000) in 2009, not included in ur file.

Canada: The single Revenge by Pink feat. Eminem is certified Gold (40,000) in 2021, not included in ur file.

Finland: the correct figure for The Marshall Mathers LP based on the database is 40,055 not 40,555. The single Lose Yourself is certified Gold (6,304) in 2003. Tho it didn't sell enough to receive a certification, the single Without Me had sold (4,874) in 2002. Overall his total Finnish sales is 135,225.

Poland: The single Godzilla is certified 2× Platinum (100,000) in August 11, 2021, not included in ur file.

And last but not least...

Portugal: The album The Eminem Show is certified Platinum (40,000) in 2003, the total Portuguese sales will be 95,000. Moh8213 (talk) 10:53, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

  • Argentina: We should not include any albums including Curtain Call that's verifiable.
  • Finland: The single "Without Me" isn't certified, bare in mind that our column is for certified sales, not for actual sales figures.
  • Poland: Note that the entire batch of certs posted in August are to have older levels (I had a discussion about this at Template talk:Certification Table Entry). So Godzilla is certified 2x Platinum for 40,000 units.--Harout72 (talk) 14:29, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

Madonna file--Harout72 (talk) 20:16, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

I've checked it and ngl u did a good job with gatherings the certifications. But here's what I've found:

  • Australia:

Music: Gold (7,500). The Ultimate Collection (The Immaculate Collection & The Video Collection 93-99): Gold (7,500).

  • Belgium: correct figure for The Confessions Tour is 25,000 as it was released in January, 2007. And I assume the correct figure for the single 4 Minutes is also 25,000 since the cert levels for singles (15,000/30,000) were in effect since mid-2009.
  • New Zealand:

Vogue: Gold (5,000) And btw, is there anyway to fully access the New Zealand chartbook (1966-2006) cuz apparently it shows a lot of records which were certified in NZ during that period including some of Madonna's records for sure.

  • Italy: isn't the correct figure for True Blue's 4× Plat. is 2,000,000 units? Since the album was released when the certification levels were 250,000 for Gold and 500,000 for Platinum.
  • Belgium: I believe the cert levels for albums were lowered since January 2007 in Belgium.
  • Italy: I applied the levels of 1987 because True Blue has not received any certs in Italy in 1986 (see page33). I don't think it was released there in 1986 (albums/singles back then were not released worldwide all at once like now). Also according to this article, the sales for True Blue have reached 1.5 million by 2019. The 4x Platinum for sales of 800,000 in 1987 makes sense.
  • New Zealand: A fellow wikipedian (Cher fan) provided me scans of few pages for New Zealand chartbook (1966-2006), he actually got the scans from another person. So for now, we still don't have the entire certs scanned.--Harout72 (talk) 23:32, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
  • Belgium: nope, I don't think so. If you check the IFPI report (which was released in September 2007), it clearly states that levels were reduced in May 2007 from 15,000 and 30,000 (domestic) and 25,000 and 50,000 (international). Either way, to make things less confusing, the album was already certified Gold in March of 2007. Moh8213 (talk) 00:07, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
It would be 20,000 for Gold, not 25,000 units. The international levels were reduced from 20,000/40,000 to 15,000/30,000 in May 2007.--Harout72 (talk) 00:47, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

It was a typo, for further proof, here's another IFPI report which was literally released prior the September 2007 report. Moh8213 (talk) 01:11, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Yup, looks like there may never have been 20,000/40,000. The December 2006 and the January 2007 archived versions also show 25,000/50,000.--Harout72 (talk) 01:21, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey Harout, hope you doing well. Apparently, there is few more missing certs for Madonna in which they are:

  • Spain: The album Evita certified Gold (50,000) in 1997 & American Life certified Gold (50,000) in 2005 in week 2. The compilation album GHV2 is certified 2× Platinum (200,000) in 2002.
  • New Zealand: The album Something to Remember is certified Gold (7,500) in 1996.
  • Brazil: The album Something to Remember is certified Gold (100,000) in 1996 and then it was later certified Gold in 1998, don't you think that that certification was meant to be Platinum? I don't think it's a duplication but what do you think? Moh8213 (talk) 04:43, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
  • Spain: Promusicae supports only Platinum for "GHV2", posted in week 3 of 2004. But since I couldn't find another/second week supporting only Platinum, I added also the 2x Platinum which appears in the book.
  • Brazil: I don't know what to make of the duplicated Gold certs. Maybe the first Gold in 1996 was posted by mistake, maybe the second Gold posted in 1998 was supposed to be posted as Platinum. Who knows, in any case I'd like to keep it at Gold only, for clarity purpose.--Harout72 (talk) 13:49, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey Harout, hope you're doing well. Here's something that got me confused, the Italian 2× Platinum certification for Like a Virgin (which was certified in 1987), is it a separate certification or a continuation from the 1986 Plat. certification? Moh8213 (talk) 14:12, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Yup, it is basically a continuation. First certified Platinum in 1986 for 500,000 units, then in 1987 certified 2x Platinum for 1,000,000 units. Bare in mind that certs in the past, for most markets, were based on release dates, not certification dates.--Harout72 (talk) 14:26, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the confirmation, it'd be great if you could send me a revised version of her file. Moh8213 (talk) 19:48, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Here it is.--Harout72 (talk) 20:18, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey Harout, found this magazine from RPM and on page 3 it's stated that her album Music is certified Platinum (15,000) in Ireland. Is it possible to use this source to add Madonna's total 105,000 on the list? Moh8213 (talk) 19:55, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

We should only add certifications from articles when they're directly being provided by certifying bodies, like page 43 in Music & Media for example.--Harout72 (talk) 20:49, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Alright. Also, I think it's safe to remove the ARIA catalogue albums chart for The Immaculate Collection since that album already recieved the 12× Platinum cert. in 2002. Moh8213 (talk) 22:37, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Madonna's album Like a Prayer was certified Gold (20,000) in Portugal. The certification is mentioned on a Billboard magazine that was issued in 1990 on page 69. Also there are other certifications from artists like Pink Floyd, Elvis Presley, Julio Iglesias etc... that you might want to add in ur files. Moh8213 (talk) 19:38, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

Shakira

Shakira has received Diamond certification for her song "Me enamoré" and Platinum with Gold for "Clandestino" in Mexico, also according to the Rolling Stones they affirm that Shakira is the best-selling Latina in history with 80 million records sold. I think it is time to update your figures. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 19:21, 1 January 2022 (UTC)

Can you stop spamming the discussions page? U literally keep opening a discussion begging to raise Shakira's sales figure, that's not how it works. According to the Definitions section of this page: The claimed figures are upgraded only when there is a significant progress in artists' certified units. In other words, the available certified units for each artist should get relatively closer to already listed claimed figure in order for higher figures to replace the listed ones. So because of this, we can't update her sales figure, even if it's provided by a reliable source. I assume we gon' update her figure when she reaches at least 70m in certified sales. Moh8213 (talk) 08:35, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Yes, since streaming pushes certifications forward more quickly these days, around 70 million in certified units would be more appropriate area for the upgrade to be done. What are the reliable sources that claim 80 million. Shakira's own page uses a 80 million records which is supported by Glamour magazine. We need something more reliable than that.--Harout72 (talk) 13:52, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

If you like a reliable source the music magazine "Rolling Stones" already confirmed it a few days ago, if you like the link here it is: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/shakira-donde-estan-los-ladrones-500-greatest-albums-podcast-1271135/ AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 17:24, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Where are The Who?

Why no Who in the list of best-selling artists? I'm not an expert but they were a massive band in the so-called "Album Era" (1965-2000), and still active right up until 2019.

More to the point their Wikipedia entry states the group has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and 'Tommy' is listed as having sold 20 million-plus in the best-selling albums of all time. Their absence on this list seems anomalous. Can anyone clarify or correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr Birnam (talkcontribs) 16:26, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

The Who will be put in the list when they reach 30 million with their certified sales. Their available certified sales stand at 28.4 million for now.--Harout72 (talk) 17:50, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

Diana Ross and Dolly Parton?

Hi there, with their recent updated BPI certifications, what are the chances for them to be added to the list? Thanks. Uncleangelo 08:57, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Diana Ross' 2020 BPI certified sales added only 400,000 units, Dolly Parton's 2019 BPI certified sales added only 440,000 units. That's really not much to make a serious difference in their already low certified sales.--Harout72 (talk) 01:36, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply! Was hoping it'll add enough to cover the 20% certified units. Do you have the data of their certifications please? thanks! Uncleangelo 02:57, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
We don't add artists to the list with low certified sales even when they meet the 20%. This is stated in the Definitions. Lot of the artists on the list with low certified sales that were listed with high/inflated claimed figures in the past have been downgraded. We continue to do that only for those that are still on the list, but we don't add new artists with low certified sales. Anyways, here are their files, Diana Ross (total 19.150 million), Dolly Parton (total 21.065 million).--Harout72 (talk) 03:37, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying and thanks for the files, much appreciated! Keep up the good work! Uncleangelo 03:57, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Hey Harout, this was published a few days ago, seems like Dolly Parton's management wants to push her certified sales total to 30 million so she can be included here :), take a look as there seems to be new certifications that are not on your file. Thanks. Uncleangelo 03:57, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

The Australian certifications haven't been posted yet, also Danish album certifications are not yet posted in their database. The Finnish certs cannot be found as IFPI Finland hasn't been posting their certs since 2015. I was missing some certs, all are updated now on my file. But overall Dolly Parton's certified sales are very low for 100 million claim even for an artists who's begun charting on official album/single charts in 1971. I'd like to wait for her Australian certs to be published by the ARIA, then if we decide to add her to the list with 100 million records, she'll be at the bottom of that section. Thanks for that source BTW.--Harout72 (talk) 13:43, 9 January 2022 (UTC)

Well, Bob Seger's success is mainly US focused, we don't seem to be missing earlier certifications from those markets that didn't have a certification system when Seger was charting in the 1970s and 1980s. So let's keep him where he is until he's between 60-65 million with his certified sales.--Harout72 (talk) 13:03, 18 January 2022 (UTC)

I was about to change it myself, but I thought it might be worth discussing, According to this article, Nicki Minaj claims that she immigrated to the US "illegally" and it's unknown what's her citizenship status is. So because of this, I think it's better to to change her country to her birthplace Trinidad and Tobago, what do you think? Moh8213 (talk) 14:57, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Our column is not for nationality, it's for the market artists are from. In fact, her birthplace should not be mentioned as she's never released any material there, if I'm not mistaken. If Minaj's music is being produced in the States, she resides in the States and she's signed to US record company, all that points to the fact that she's a US artist, not an artist of Trinidad and Tobago. But I'm ok with keeping her native country's name in the column also.--Harout72 (talk) 15:15, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

That's true, but still even though she's residing in the States, there's no any info whether she's a US citizen or not, plus if you search her on Google they list her as a "Trinidadian rapper" not "American rapper" and the same way with most articles she's mentioned in. Either way, I think it's important to include her native country in the coloumn. Moh8213 (talk) 15:58, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Again, her citizenship of her native country doesn't make her an artist of Trinidad and Tobago. The same with articles that are stating "Trinidadian rapper", they're simply stating her nationality. At the end of the day, she's a US based artist, not Trinidadian based.--Harout72 (talk) 16:31, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

I request that some more research is done with the addition of artists such as Green Day as they have sold '87,323,000' records which is substantially higher than some of the other artists listed, i am sure there are other artists who have been missed but this is just the one i have happened to notice, if i have overlooked something apologies but i am under the influence that Green Day for instance should be on the list. kind regards 195.194.208.203 (talk) 14:02, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Green Day will be put up on the list when they have the required amount of certified sales, which is 54.6 million for 75 million claimed figures. So far their available certified sales are 51.2 million.--Harout72 (talk) 14:32, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

The source you have provided for certified sales claims that the total number of certified sales is in fact 57,395,224 which is higher than the required amount of certified sales for the list. you can add it up yourself if you wish — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.194.208.203 (talk) 14:48, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello. Just wondering if Cardi B is eligible for the list. Her total RIAA units surpass 90 million [2]. The website Sportskeeda backs it up:

https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/how-much-cardi-b-worth-rapper-s-fortune-explored-gifts-husband-offset-2-million-birthday. 181.65.101.55 (talk) 02:02, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

Is there a reliable source that claims at least 75 million records for her? RIAA supports only 48 million.--Harout72 (talk) 05:56, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

48 million for her singles as a lead act, a total of 96 including featuring credits [3]. 181.65.101.55 (talk) 06:27, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

We include only the certifications for those singles that have maximum of three artists involved. The certs for singles with four or more artists are not included. To be included on this list, we'd first need a reliable source that claims at least 75 million records for her, and since she's a new artists, her worldwide certified sales would have to be over 150 million units because more than 50% (if not 75%) of her certified sales are streaming generated and not based on downloads or physical sales.--Harout72 (talk) 13:02, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

I see. Without "Taki Taki" (the only with four artists) it would be 92 million US units. I'll look for a claim of 75 million. Is there a total worldwide units compilation available? To see where her total stands. 181.65.101.55 (talk) 17:39, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

I don't think Cardi B is ready to be on the list. She's still need another six years to be. Politsi (talk) 15:21, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

Beyoncé

Hey Harout, sorry for being late, I've been busy lately. But here are the certs that appears to be missing/dated:

  • New Zealand: The 2x Platinum for "Perfect" is for all versions, not just for duet with Beyonce, that's the reason I only added the 2x Platinum to Ed Sheeran's total. Notice when "Perfect" had received its first Platinum by December 2017, and the Duet version had already been released as well, but not charting separately. The two versions combined peaked at No. 1 in mid December 2017, and the standard version no longer is listed separately.
  • Sweden: I have "Best Thing I Ever Had" as Platinum on my file.
Good job, here is the updated file.--Harout72 (talk) 13:54, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
So, is it okay if I put her with 120m claim now? Thanks Politsi (talk) 14:51, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
If it's a reliable source, why not, the difference is only 2 million.--Harout72 (talk) 15:04, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Hey Harout, I've just had one last glimpse on the file and it seems that the single Baby Boy is certified Gold (400,000) in the UK in 2020. (Listed in ur file as Silver) Moh8213 (talk) 22:06, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

Janet Jackson

Can one please check if these two songs' certifications are added here? What's It Gonna Be?! was certified Gold in the USA in 1999. Feel It Boy was certified Gold in Australia.

Got ‘Til It’s Gone single is Silver in your file; isn't it Gold on the SNEP website? Isn't All for You certified Gold on SNEP? Isn't WHOOPS NOW is certified Gold on SNEP? Israell (talk) 20:11, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

Comment about French certs and applicable to all artist. SNEP database is a kind of mess site (like was CAPIF in Argentina), because now every previous silver certification is "Gold" in their new database and that's simply an error. I think InfoDisc provide if older singles were "Gold" or "Silver"- --Apoxyomenus (talk) 20:16, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
The French certs mentioned above are all Silver, the SNEP database isn't programmed to bring up the Silver awards. The US Gold for "What's It Gonna Be" and the Australian Gold for "Feel It Boy" were just added. Here is the updated file for Janet. Let me know if you see anything else missing.--Harout72 (talk) 20:55, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

Changing the total claimed sales for Madonna from 300 m to 335m. Guinness world records (one of two main and valid verification sources) recognises Madonna’s sales at 335 m. This source is from 2015, more recent than the sources which give the current figure on this Wikipedia article. In order to increase the factual accuracy and reliability of this article, updating this error to match the verified source is required.

Guinness World Records are irrelevant to music sales certification. They even say that worldwide sales of Elvis are 1 billion, of which 129.5 million are sales in America. It's just ridiculous. 31.4.229.77 (talk) 20:26, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

Britney Spears 125 Million Copies Sold

I think Britney should be added to the 120-190 million list, because her certified sales (88.5m) calculated by the stadistic porcentage of first year of certification (69.4% by 1999) confirm that Britney have more than 125 million estimated copies sold. 200.8.188.27 (talk) 05:27, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

Harout, let's take a break from this Whitney Houston's stuff. Let's put Post Malone into the list with 80m records. Here is the source https://screenrant.com/home-alone-kevin-mccallister-post-malone-funko-pop/ just for temporary. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 10:56, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Harout, actually how many certified sales she should have to enter the list. I still feel her succes make her able to be here. Thanks Politsi (talk) 15:34, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

She needs 57.2 million certified units for 75 million claim, so far she's at 39.8 million with her certified sales.--Harout72 (talk) 16:05, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

What about digital sales on RIAJ?

RIAJ started its charting since 1989 and digital one since 2006. In the past, it was 25% and now its total value is 16.5%. So, is there any difference between physical sales and digital sales on RIAJ, as considering new standard of either? --Jnr0101 (talk) 17:04, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Somebody’s Watching Me

Quick question: What would it take for Michael Jackson to be credited with certifications for this song? Per Jackson’s website (https://www.michaeljackson.com/track/somebodys-watching-me/) and being credited for background vocals, and the song being included on his 2017 Halloween album, 'Scream,' would any of this be enough?TruthGuardians (talk) 19:05, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

MJ is like a featured artists on that track, even though it doesn't say that on the cover. RIAA has certs on that and Music Canada also. I'll add them.--Harout72 (talk) 21:47, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

JT

Hey Harout, apparently I didn't check Justin Timberlake's file properly and so here are the remaining stuff I've found:

  • Australia: The DVD FutureSex/LoveShow: Live from Madison Square Garden is certified 9× Platinum (135,000) in 2009.
  • Denmark: The album FutureSex/LoveSounds is certified 2× Platinum (80,000) in 2007.
  • France: The album FutureSex/LoveSounds is certified Platinum (200,000) in 2007.
  • Netherlands: The album Justified is certified 2× Platinum (160,000) (under BMG Netherlands BV) in 2003. And it was certified Gold (40,000) (under Zomba Record Holdings BV) in 2003.
  • New Zealand: The DVD FutureSex/LoveShow: Live from Madison Square Garden is certified 2× Platinum (10,000) on March 28, 2010.
  • United Kingdom: The DVD FutureSex/LoveShow is certified Gold (25,000) in 2013.

Also, isn't the soundtrack Trolls supposed to be part of Timberlake's sales? Based on my research, Timberlake's on 7 of the 13 songs on the album, plus he wrote the 8th track "They Don't Know" (performed by Ariana Grande), plus he handed production on all the tracks on the album. I hope there's nothing else missing but if there's, I'll hit u up. Moh8213 (talk) 20:57, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Yup, that's what I said, and according to your file, u listed the album as being certified Gold (100,000). Moh8213 (talk) 22:00, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Yes, you're right, added now.--Harout72 (talk) 22:07, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Looks like I ain't done yet...

The song Rehab by Rihanna feat. Justin Timberlake has certifications in the following countries:

  • Denmark: Gold (7,500)
  • Germany: Gold (150,000)
  • New Zealand: Gold (7,500)
  • United Kingdom: Gold (400,000)
  • United States: 2× Platinum(2,000,000)

Also the DVD Justin Timberlake: Live from London is certified Platinum (15,000) in Australia and Gold (25,000) in the UK.

Also was wondering, isn't the Dutch Gold (40,000) certification for the album Justified a separate certification from the 2× Platinum, since the album was released under a different record label? Moh8213 (talk) 15:03, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

The Dutch cert is for the same issue, the Gold is listed with Record label, the Platinum is listed with Parent record company. As for "Rehab", Timberlake doesn't seem to have any vocal participation in the song though, he seems to have worked on the production part of it. Even the cover of the single doesn't have his name as featured artist. Also, I watched the video, he just basically appears in the video with no vocal participation at all. I'm not sure if the certs for that song should be added to his total. Are there actually versions, that Timberlake does provide vocals on "Rehab"?--Harout72 (talk) 15:19, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

The reason why I mentioned the Dutch cert is because you also did the same with Britney Spears' albums certification in Switzerland but whatever, I don't understand why you become so hesitant in stuffs like these, let's look at it from the logical side, if Timberlake indeed didn't provide vocals on the song, then there's no way he would've been listed as a feature on the official video on YT. Also it seems like you aren't familiar with JT's voice, to find his part on the song, go to the video again on YT and set the duration to 3:30, from there play the video and then you can clearly hear Timberlake's vocals saying "Now ladies, gimme that" throughout the 15 seconds of the song, while it was minor, he still nonetheless provided vocals on the song, also it's worth noting that his part in the single version is a little longer than the video version. As for the single cover not having his name on it, there are literally countless singles covers that doesn't add the featured artists' photo nor even name, when in fact they are featured on the song. Still if you're not convinced about his involvement on the song (for whatever reason) you can even check Credits and personnel section on the song's article and there you will see he provided additional vocals, background vocals, writing and vocal production. Therefore, based on the info I've given above and the fact that he's already listed as a featured artist on Rihanna's YT channel and the BPI's Gold certification of the song, I guess we have enough evidence to include those certifications to his total. Moh8213 (talk) 21:59, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Some of Britney Spears' Swiss certs are listed with her Labels and some with parent record company. Which of her certs are you referring to? Justin says a few words :), Ok Let's add them to his total since officially he's listed as s featured artist.--Harout72 (talk) 22:15, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Lol, just wanted to make sure that you'd be 100% convinced because based on the past experiences, you really aren't an easy person to convince. And for Britney Spears, I'm referring to her albums ...Baby One More Time and Britney, according to your file on Spears, both of these albums have 2 separate Platinum certifications that were issued by different record labels, that's why I thought the same thing with JT's 2× Platinum and Gold cert. in the Netherlands. And btw, it seems like you forgot to add the certs of the DVD Justin Timberlake: Live from London that I mentioned above. Moh8213 (talk) 19:25, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

I think many others that have interacted with me at this list would agree with your first point:) Yup you're right I forgot the Videos certs. As for the Dutch certs, basically, the Zomba is the label which belonged to BMG, and the BMG was the parent record company. The Gold is listed with the label, the 2x Plat with the parent, it's same issue. As for Britney's certs, Britney's, Backstreet Boys', NSYNC's music was being marketed in Germany, Switzerland, Austria (GSA region) by Zomba, the parent of which was BMG. While Jive is affiliated to Zomba, didn't really have any say there in GSA region, it was just just Zomba. Those certs listed with Jive are most likely the import CDs sold with the permission of Zomba. --Harout72 (talk) 20:54, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Understandable. While it won't make any change, the song Give It to Me by Timbaland feat. Nelly Furtado & Justin Timberlake was certified Gold (5,000) in Norway in 2007. Now since his certified sales are at 82M, is it possible to upgrade his claimed sales to the 90-100 million range? Moh8213 (talk) 16:25, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

If there is 90 million claim, then it would be ok. But 100 million would be inflated for him. Note than he has 7 million digital certified units from UK that were issued after 2016, and some 8 million digital certs from the US after 2016. Those certs are 50+% streaming based.--Harout72 (talk) 16:40, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
