Fair use rationale for Image:INS Aditya.jpg

[edit]

Image:INS Aditya.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

INS Shivalik

[edit]

Why is the ship included as a ship in service? I've never read of anything on it being inducted into the navy. If I'm not wrong, it's not even fully constructed! Can someone correct me if I'm wrong? Thanks.  S3000  ☎ 10:14, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The image Image:Godavari class frigate.JPG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Has been fixed... plz check if this is adequate. I am reinstating the image there. Sniperz11@CS 09:16, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Planned Ships Project 28

[edit]

In planned section, it says that under Project 28 8 ships are being planned to be built by GSRE and again under Project 28A, it says 8 more are planned to be built by Mazagon. In my opinion, Project 28 includes only 4 ships and the further 8 will be under Project 28A. Mittal.fdk (talk) 08:33, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Navy Ships new page

[edit]

The current revision of Indian Navy ships is as accurate as I can get it, I removed some ships and submarines which were clearly OoS. This new page also allows for easy and sharp edits when ever a old ship is decommisioned or a new is brought in service. Look at Russian navy ships, royal navy ships and french navy ships for simular pages, it has become the more common way of a page for navy ships.Rademire (talk) 10:21, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that this page is better than the former.......I would rather change this to the table format. If you want to edit some ships from the table format, you can do it easily. Mittal.fdk 17:05, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

The last three of the Nilgiri class frigates are still in service. They are not decommissioned from service till now. May be in one or two years they will be, after the induction of the Shivalik class and the Teg class frigates.Bcs09 (talk) 09:38, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recon.Army, provide sources before you remove it. It's necessary Wikipedia policy to ensure that whatever edit is made is correct and for that sources are required. I tried searching for the decommissioning info of the last three but cannot get it. Those ships are still in service. Until there is news of decommissioning of these ships, it cannot be removed. Do you have the source, please provide it.Bcs09 (talk) 02:40, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
