I see that a lot of the game titles aren't pointing at the correct pages for those games. Unless someone is already on it, I'd be happy to take care of that Tuesday night. eXonyte 08:34, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Earthbound

I removed it from the list because I've not seen it listed for the VC anywhere---neither on NOA's Wii site for 2006 titles or at the ESRB site for a rating. Not that it matters but I wish it was coming out this year. Ryuzx 21:34, 22 November 2006 (UTC)ryuzx

I did the same thing for Donkey Kong Country for the same reasons. Though I'd love to see it for the service so it would be nice to be proved wrong. Thores 11:09, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Why is Donkey Kong Country on the Future Releases list? I thought Thores got rid of it? --Ashitaka96 21:53, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
What do you mean? It's a Nintendo IP and Nintendo owns all the rights to it, so why wouldn't it be available? The reason it's on the list is because it showed up on the ESRB's website for VC games (which have "Nintendo" listed as the platform) and has been confirmed for every other region. TJ Spyke 22:12, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Oh ok, I see it. By the way, There are more games that should be on the Future Releases list that are on the ESRB list under Nintendo like: Uniracers, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, etc.. Why aren't they on there?--Ashitaka96 00:20, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Probably because no websites have reported that.I just checked and the ESRB site does indeed list them. I'll add them in. TJ Spyke 00:45, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

This would be the perfect way...

...to have GameBoy compatibility with the Wii since the GameBoy Player isn't compatible with the Wii. (that, and I'm really hoping they bring FFIII (US SNES) aka FFVI (JPN Famicom)to the Wii)
Duggera 02:17, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VI is being re-released on GBA, so not likely any chance it's going to happen. -- 12.116.162.162 20:28, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

December for unreleased 2006 titles

Should the titles for the remainder of 2006 have their dates changed to December 2006? At least by midnight tonight, it's obvious they won't be out any other month, unless they are delayed for whatever reason. Eusis 01:29, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Seems a little unnecessary since I think people can realize that themselves. TJ Spyke 01:37, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, point there. Will just have them be changed when games are added then. Eusis 02:04, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Confused and not amused

I thought Mario kart 64 just came out Today I wouldn't know since I'm not getting my till Decmber 16 Marioman12 21:48, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Mario Kart 64 doesn't have a release date yet, all we do know is that it's not coming out this year. TJ Spyke 22:10, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

What about Super Mario world, reggie himself said it would be out by launch has nintendo said anything since launch about it. Marioman12 22:55, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

The release dates in the article are the only confirmed release dates (i.e. not BS dates that some sites make up). Super Mario World is confirmed, but that's all we know. It's possibe that Reggie just meant the Japanese launch since it did make the Japanese launch of the VC. TJ Spyke 22:59, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

No he said it but than nintendo said he was wrong and I no it was him because it was on a video. I was just wondering because he said it so I thought it would be soon.Marioman12 23:05, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I know what he said too. Nintendo never said he was wrong, we only found out it wouldn't be available in North America this year when they relesed that list of all Wii games and Virtual Console games that would be released in 2006. Reggie said in a recent interview with MTV that they would save the big games for when the Wii goes through dry periods. TJ Spyke 23:16, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Were gonna have dry periods again No!!!!!!!!! Nintendo has said in alotta of interviewsthat gonna release one good game a month right or did read right and Should i put Wave Rave 64 on the upcoming list since it was at E3 as a demo or have they said there isn't mush of a chance of that happening. Also is duck JHunt that Wii play game or the oringinal and will it have to use the Wii mote and does the wiimote need the wii zapper. Marioman12 23:29, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Every system goes through dy periods. I'm sure he just meant during weeks were there are little or no Wii games released. Wave Race 64 hasn't been confirmed yet, although they own the IP so it's up to Nintendo to decided if and when they want to release it. That Wii Play mini-game is a Duck Hunt style game, but it's not Duck Hunt. TJ Spyke 23:33, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Than how about controllers?Marioman12 23:42, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
The Zapper was just a shell, so you wouldn't need it since the Wii Remote works just fine (like how the steering wheel that comes with GT Pro Series and Monster 4x4 World Circuit is just a shell). I don't know how Duck Hunt will work, but the Wii Remote itself can work just fine. TJ Spyke 23:49, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Not what this says: The zapper shell with the remote [edit] Wii Zapper Nintendo has showcased a gun-like "Zapper" shell for the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote slots into the "gun barrel" of the shell.[25] The shell features a "trigger hole", as well as an analog stick on the top of the handle.[26] The controller expansion was reported by various gaming websites to be utilized for a sequel to the classic NES light gun game Duck Hunt[27][28] and classic NES Zapper games and Super NES Super Scope games. It is rumored that it might be used in Wii Play; however there has been no information on when or if it will be released or its retail price." Marioman12 02:28, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

I know what other sites say, but the Wii Remote and Nunchuk can handle everything the zapper could. I doubt the zapper (which was even called just a prototype by Nintendo) will even come out since there has been no mention of it since E3. TJ Spyke 02:35, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Well I gotta say I got it out of wikipedia and I'm gonna put December just so it looks like it will be sooner. Marioman12 00:03, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Changing the order on the bottom

We have it by date and althabethical so I'm doing it together on the top so I'm doing it on the botom Marioman12 22:08, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Alphabetical seems the best way for future releases since it doesn't look like Nintendo will give us release dates for future games. TJ Spyke 22:27, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

ok Tj go fix the top part and stop getting rid of Ice hockey it doesn't deserve to be deletedMarioman12 22:45, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I didn't get rid of Ice Hockey, it's listed. You must be missing it. TJ Spyke 22:47, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok whatever it got lost and I put it back just so no one get's rid of it again heres alink to prove it [1] Marioman12 22:51, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

New Games

When was it announced that Super Mario Picross would be avaible in wii shop channel as well as Fire Emblem —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 167.102.161.90 (talk) 12:26, 6 December 2006 (UTC).

They weren't, neither even came out in North America to begin with. They were removed since no source was provided. TJ Spyke 22:25, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Reception?

Now that the vc games are getting reviews should we make reception section of some kind?Marioman12 21:14, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Maybe. But not here. This page is a list of available and upcoming titles, and that's all it should be. A reception of the virtual console in general may be appropriate on it's own page, and reception for individual games should be put in their respective pages.Mattu82 02:18, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

can someone else do it?Marioman12 21:33, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Unnecessary columns?

Is it really necessary to have a Classic controller combatability column since all virtual console games are going to be compatable with it? Also, couldn't we just put the price next to the console in the header instead of having a whole column for it (since all games for a particular console are the same price)? I think if we removed these two it would save space and make the list easier to read and update. What does everyone else think?Mattu82 22:45, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I entirely agree. In fact, until it turns out differently with future games, we might as well remove the two other controller columns too, since they are all the same for each console. If it happens to change in the future we can always re-add the columns, but for all we know right now it won't ever change. --ADeveria 23:06, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok. Unless I see a reasonable objection here before then, I will restructure the table to remove these columns Sunday night, before the new games come on Monday.Mattu82 18:24, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

I only agree about the Classic Controller. All prices are NOT the same, and they have always said those are the starting prices (i.e. NES games START at 500 points). Just because there arn't any different prices right now is not a good reason to remove that column. TJ Spyke 23:22, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
The Classic Controller might not always work either, assuming Nintendo releases any light-gun games, right? Speaking of unnecessary, what's up with "Price:" in the price listings? Ryuzx 01:43, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I'll leave things alone for now. I see at Nintendo's Virtual Console site it does say that the current prices are starting prices. However, it also lists the classic controller as compatible with all VC games, along with Wikipedia's own Virtual Console page. Thus, I still propose removing the classic controller column. We can always add it back in if there ever are any lightgun games released. I will wait for feedback before taking any action.Mattu82 04:06, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

As I said in my earlier comments, I agree about the Classic Controller part. TJ Spyke 04:07, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
It would seem rather annoying to have to add the column back, especially considering the possibility of how many titles there might be by the time Nintendo does release the light-gun titles. However, that is more of an "if" instead of a "when", so I don't care if it is removed. Ryuzx 06:18, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
If they do release Lightgun games (which seems pretty slim) the number of games that would use it would be very small. So small, it may be better to put as a footnote ("Classic Controller not compatable") rather then re-adding the entire column. But that's just me. -Ryanbomber 17:13, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

The classic controller column has been removedMattu82 19:57, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Reliability of this guide?

IGN's guide has been pretty accurate so far. Should we use some of the dates?--64.178.5.27 22:37, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

No, because they have been wrong as well, especially their Wii launch guide. They are guessing based on when they think the games will release. TJ Spyke 23:19, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

ESRB Site Listings

I noticed on the ESRB site they list Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan under Nintendo. I'm assuming it's SMB: Lost Levels. Should that be added to the future releases list? What about others like Tin Star and Hagane for SNES, and Aerofighters Assault for N64? --Ashitaka96 03:49, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to add them. Except Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan.--Ashitaka96 04:11, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
There is also Super Pinball on the list that was only released in Japan on the Famicom, and Wario Blast that is a Game Boy game. I don't understand why that is on the list.--Ashitaka96 06:28, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Mystery TG16 Title

The link from Eusis seems legitimate. It's from a Hudson staff member. If you read the change history summary he says it might be Military Madness, I think he's right. Someone put Military Madness up earlier, but I took it down. I think the mystery title should go back up. --Ashitaka96 00:11, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

It doesn't help the article though. There is no info whatsoever on whatever this game may be. TJ Spyke 00:26, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
The problem was that I couldn't supply a date - the topic simply mentions 'in the next update'. That likely means the 18th, but technically they could mean on Christmas and are just skipping this Monday altogether. I tried to see if they put up a VC page to at least add Military Madness and they just didn't link it on their front page, ala Alien Crush, but I couldn't find such immediately. Eusis 01:16, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
It's up there on Hudson's site now, Eusis. I updated the future releases, although I didn't put up a release date for it. I'm assuming that it will be Monday since Hudson's site claims it is available now. Ryuzx 17:14, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess your right TJ Spyke.--Ashitaka96 05:16, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Space harrier 2

Someone locked down the page when I was working so I lost all the Space harrier2 information can someone fix it? Marioman12 15:34, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Aren't you jumping the gun a bit. They aren't out yet.--Ashitaka96 15:43, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Military Madness and Super star Solider with gamecube controller

Do they work or not I don't have access to my Wii yet Marioman12 15:56, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

They aren't out yet.--Ashitaka96 16:41, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

They are nowMarioman12 20:59, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Super Star Soldie came out a few weeks ago. TJ Spyke 22:48, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
I meant Military Madness wasn't out.--Ashitaka96 17:51, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Releases on Mondays

It's not an assumption, Nintendo planed to release to be on Mondays from the beginning![2]--Ashitaka96 23:09, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, PLAN. While I do agree that will most likely be released next Monday, the only one with that confirmed is ToeJam & Earl. TJ Spyke 23:13, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
No, Nintendo WILL be releasing them on Mondays, read the article.--Ashitaka96 23:17, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
I have read the article, more than you likely. Microsoft also planned on releasing a new game every Wednesday, but that hasn't always happened. TJ Spyke 23:20, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
There's also the possibility that games originally scheduled to come out in 2006 get pushed into January for some weird reason: I doubt it will happen, but it IS possible, and we've had games originally not scheduled for this year coming out thanks to Hudson. Eusis 01:29, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Just do it they have at least 4 games per update either that or unknownMarioman12 03:09, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

At least 4 games? They never said that, they said 2-4 games. Today was only 3 games for example (Tennis, Military Madness, and Space Harrier II). TJ Spyke 03:11, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Except it isn't unknown: They said they'd be out in 2006, and until either they announce otherwise or 2006 ends, it should remain that way. It shouldn't go from 2006 to Unknown just because they have yet to specify a day, especially with them waiting until the last second here. Eusis 04:02, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
I think today's announcement shows why you shouldn't assume what the release dates are. TJ Spyke 21:22, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Sources for some games?

Is there any confirmed sources for some of the non-Nintendo games on the list? I'm specifically looking at Uniracers and Beetle Adventure Racing, which, while I would love to see, would rather see proof of them or have them taken off the list. The T 16:59, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

If you look under Nintendo on the ESRB site you will see them listed.--Ashitaka96 17:54, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Okay so, I definetly don't see those two there, nor do I see Mario Party. I was looking here: http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ under the Wii section. Elaborate, maybe? The T 02:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Already, my mistake. I see what you meant under "Nintendo". My bad. Thanks. The T 02:46, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

SMB 2 Japan, Wario Blast, and others...

On the ESRB site listed under Nintendo. What do you think about them. I'm assuming by SMB 2 Japan they mean Lost Levels and Wario Blast that's a Game Boy game. Do you think Nintendo is actually going to release Game Boy games for the VC? Do you think the original Lost Levels is going to be released? And what about the rest of the games on the list under Nintendo like Chameleon Twist 2, Glover, Tonic Trouble, S.C.A.R.S, etc..--Ashitaka96 04:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

It seems like the ESRB lists a lot of older games with "Nintendo" as the system. I know for a fact that Game Boy games are not scheduled to be on the VC. TJ Spyke 05:00, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Hole In One Golf by Natsume is a Game Boy Color game.--Ashitaka96 05:11, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Rumors...

I'm hearing rumors that Super Mario Bros., ToeJam and Earl, and R-Type will be free for download on Christmas. I'm not saying we should add this into the article (I lost the link to the site where I heard this), but I just wanted to give you guys a heads up.--64.178.5.34 23:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

That's false. ALL upcoming VC games have "0 points" listed as the price until the game goes live. While it's possible SMB could be free, I wold put the chances of it happening at like 1%. TJ Spyke 23:17, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Why the heck do people keep changing back the OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED DATES of the new VC titles for 12/25 and 1/1? These are CONFIRMED BY NINTENDO. Not rumors! Go to Nintendo's press site, or any number of OFFICIAL SOURCES to see. It's really annoying that people keep erasing them.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.31.158.156 (talkcontribs)

Galaga

The ESRB list Galaga under Wii, but it didn't seem to have come out on any consoles.--Ashitaka96 23:20, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Galaga came out on the NES in 1988 [3]. TJ Spyke 23:23, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
The Wikipedia article on it doesn't say so.--Ashitaka96 23:25, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Yes it does, check the bottom of the page (where it says the systems it was ported to). TJ Spyke 23:30, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Oh OK--Ashitaka96 23:39, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

"No Upcoming Games Known Yet"

I just realised that I wasn't using the Preview option and was actually doing Save Page... Heh. Ah well, fixed now, sorry about that TJ Spyke... 121.208.68.212 10:53, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
