Table Cells That Can Be Combined

[edit]

There are several places in the list of Lieutenant Governors where the last Governor a Lieutenant Governor serves under becomes the first Governor that the next Lieutenant Governor serves under (e.g. Frank Morrison). Their names are written twice in two separate cells, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to combine those cells. Every time I try putting rowspan="2" there and eliminating the second cell with the name, Wikipedia seems to automatically eliminate the first row altogether. I cannot figure out how to force it to keep the combined cell spanning two rows. 1949mercury (talk) 04:17, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
